Is LO waking your older children? DS sleeps through most of DDs wakings, but when she wakes around 5 am , it wakes him enough to be up for the day sometimes. It's throwing off his whole sleep rhythm and now he's starting to refuse naps. We close doors but all our rooms are very close and it doesn't help. Any suggestions?

This isn't a problem for us yet, but we have the radio on is both kids rooms. It could easily be a problem later when the boys start sharing a room.

Hopefully your DS will adjust soon!

I think it does. We put a tot clock in dd1's room and she knows she can't get up until it turns green so she goes back to sleep until 7:30am.

Do you have a white. Ouse machine in your older child's room? That would be my first suggestion.

we do not have a white noise machine in his room but we could. we do actually have a tot clock set for 6:30 but we've only had it for a week or so and he's not quite getting it yet

Ronan doesn't seem to wake T up at all, thankfully. Our house is fairly smallish, so I was surprised, since I can hear him cry if I'm in her room.

Mine hasn't been waking DS yet. She is very loud which is surprising. My DS normally wakes up at 5am - 6am. When she does scream we binkie her. That helps or I try nursing.

I'm not a mom of 2+ but my nephews had rooms joined by a "jack and jill" bath and my younger nephew's crying was waking his brother. My sister used one of those big square box fans in my older nephew's room and he never woke up to his brother's screaming again! (we're in Tx so it was warm then but in the winter, she just pointed the fan away from the boys)

White noise machine?

We only had that problem for the first few days and then DS started sleeping through it all, but I would say anything that provides a constant sound back ground for your DS would probably help. Does he like the FP Seahorse? Mine will turn it on for himself if we wake him up during the night.

he does have a seahorse and he does turn it on when he wakes in the middle of the night. 5 am is special though. It's close enough to his normal waking time that he thinks he's done

We dealt with this with DS1 and DS2. I put an Ipod with DS1's favorite lullaby on repeat in DS1's room, along with keeping his humidifier running.. I put the sound machine in DS2's room. I think it really helped. Good luck, I remember being soooo stressed about this! For now, we are safe here b/c baby is still in our room and the boys can't hear her

Thankfully not. DS uses a white noise machine so I think that helps.
