In the states: home bases in Chicago and Charlotte. Being a Chicagoan implies having stayed in Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. Being a Charlottean implies having stayed in South Carolina at some point. Traveled to Boston, New York, Virginia, DC, all around central coastal California, parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee, Atlanta and pre-Katrina New Orleans.
Abroad: Mexico. Guadalajara and surrounding towns/cities, beach towns Puerto Vallarta, Melaque and Barra de Navidad, and home base down there is usually foot-of-the-mountain town Techaluta de Montenegro.

In the US - I've been pretty much everywhere other than the pacific northwest. Grandparents lived in Mississippi - every year we drove down from CT, hitting tourist sights in every state along the way.
Overseas - spent 3.5 years living on a sailboat with my husband. We circumnavigated, visiting over 35 countries along the way including Bermuda, most of the Eastern Caribbean, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, Frency Poly, Tonga, NZ, Vanuatu, Australia, Indo, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, the BIOT, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, St. Helena, Ascension, and back home through the Caribe.
I have also been to Canada, Mexico, Belize, parts of western Europe, French Polynesia, Fiji, Australia, Puerto Rico, St. Croix and Ghana on other trips. So yeah, I'm a huge fan of vaccines.
US: The entire eastern seaboard except for VT. Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, KY, WV, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Nevada, California, Oregon, Washington
Europe: UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Hungary
Asia: Singapore, Hong Kong, China
Latin America/Caribbean: Mexico, Costa Rica, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, St. Thomas

This sounds amazing!
It was, but it pretty much ruined us for real life. We can't wait until the bank account is refilled enough to do it again. It will be a completely different experience with kids on board.

I did. I kept a blog religiously for almost 4 years. Which turned out to be great because it made us take so many more photos than we would have otherwise and we met so many great people along the way because they had read our stuff and got in contact with us.
There are a lot of posts, too many to read through sequentially, but they are sortable by destination on the right hand side of the page.

DH and I have talked about doing something similar for a year, and I hope we ca truly do it. It sounds amazing.
I hope you can too. It was such an amazing experience for us to do together as a couple. I can't wait to do it as a family.
My biggest pieces of advice for extended international travel (non-boat related, boat stuff is a whole other ball of wax) are:
- get a Capital One Credit card - international fee is waived and they were pretty quick (after a few misfires early on) to understand that our cards would be used in a lot of different places,
- make someone at home a Power of Attorney on one of your accounts,
- get a USAA account if you qualify - free ATM withdraws anywhere up to a certain number a month (we almost never had to exchange money because of this) and you can link up other accounts to it so it makes it super easy to manage your funds from afar,
- get the big passport with all the extra pages - getting a refill done overseas is a hassle,
- head for the lower cost of living places - your dollar goes further and you can live really well on very little, and
- no matter where you are, by eating and shopping where the locals eat and shop you can really stretch your budget.
DH and I have been to too many states for me to list but a general idea: road trips up the coast from Key West to New York City, around New England, from San Diego to Seattle and around the western/south western states.

A few months ago DH and I and some friends went to Germany and Austria and as a child my family would go to my Grandma's vacation house on the gulf in Baja.

Hubby works for the Navy and has spent a total of 12 months in Japan. I visted him twice, once for 3 weeks and once for 4 weeks. He may be going back again next winter and I'll visit again. I love Japan and we may move there in a few years if a position at the base opens up.
My dream destinations are:
