Is there such a thing as maternity panties, or do I just need to get a larger size in my undies?
I am busting out of the bras I bought late in my 1st trimester! I really don't want to have to spend the money on new bras now & then again in 6 weeks because my boobs get even bigger when my milk comes in! I'd like to just buy some nursing bras now, but what if I out grow those when my milk comes in?! Has anyone ever gotten fitted for a bra? Are they able to fit you in one now & it still has room to grow for when your milk comes in?
Thanks for the advice!
Re: Maternity Panties & Bra?
I just bought cotton Hanes panties in larger sizes. As for the bra, I recently purchased a nursing bra, without under wire, and the sizes ranged from small to extra large. The sales woman told me manufacturers do this to account for fluctuating breast size when you're breastfeeding.
Go to a maternity store and they should be able to help you find something.
Good luck!!
Motherhood sells maternity panties, however, I've been able to go through my pg w/ just my normal string bikini panties since they sit below my bump.
I called a specialty bra shop today to ask about bras (I'm large chested and most of the mall stores don't carry my size in nursing bras). They said to wait until 2 weeks after baby is born to buy nursing bras because your band size will go down from what it is now but your cup size will go up and waiting 2 weeks makes sure you're past the engorgement peroid. The only bras the specality shop said I should buy now are sleep bras because they can accomodate a range of sizes because they're super stretchy and good for engorgement.
If you absolutely need "day time" bras now go to Target or Walmart and buy one or two cheap ones to get you through the next couple of weeks.
I think maternity panties are a total gimic. With my first pregnancy, I just bought larger sizes as needed and I kept them and am using them again this time around. I like the string bikini ones 'cause they sit low, but still stay up!
