Obviously I'm lifting my baby with ease, but I've started lifting him in the infant carseat (with him in it, I'm guessing is around 12-15lbs, he's 8lbs now) and I'm getting some tenderness and feeling pulling again on the sides when I laugh/sneeze. My daughter who is 21 mos is about 25lbs and today for the 1st time I tried to gently lift her up and I felt okay.....but I'm worried I'm doing too much too fast and I should take it easier since I have my mom closeby who has offered to come and help me everyday until I get the full okay at my 6week checkup at the OB.
What are you comfortable lifting right now? If you have other kids, are you able to lift them?
Re: 4 weeks PP--how much are you lifting?
You may feel the pulling/tugging sensation because it is healing and the skin and muscles begin to tighten as it heals.
Like PP said lift with your knees.

I'm 2 weeks and I lifted my 30-ish lb DD out of her bed this morning.
But my recovery has been really easy.
