Q about thank you notes. - need help please :)

So my work is throwing me a shower in a couple of hours.

How do I go about the thank you notes? Do I write just one for the entire company or do I write individual ones for each coworker? Or do I write one for the company and then (from what I hear) some people brought additional things, not just what they pitched in for the company gift and then just give them the individual ones?

Help out a clueless mama here :)
TIA!

  • For mine I wrote out one for each person individually.

  • I would write one out for every individual who attended.

  • I think it depends on how many people there are and if you get individual gifts or just one big gift - if there are 80 people all chipping in on a gift, and this is done all the time in a somewhat impresonal manner, I would bring some treats for the whole office or something and write one thank-you note.  If it's a smaller office, then I would write everyone a thank-you note.  Anyone who individually gets you something (or say, made cupcakes, etc.), definitely deserves an individual thank you.

I agree with this. You don't have to a write a thank you for people simply attending your shower (unless they are contributing or getting a gift).

I agree that it depends.  I work in a pretty big office... for my shower (with my son) there was a card, money collection and then food of course for the shower.  the company pays for the food and such for the shower.. but everyone chiped in money for my card.  I wrote a mass thank you email to everyone.  If i got any individual gifts I would give personal thank you cards to those particular individuals.

  • There is about 40 of us in the office so nothing huge. I guess I'll see who's there, who signs the card etc.

    thanks for your help!
