Elective U/S for gender determination.....

If you have ever had one or know someone who has had one, was it correct in the end? 

My DH and i have thought about getting one at 15 weeks, which will be right before new years.  But after talking with other moms, i have actually heard 3 stories now where they had the same thing done and it turned out it was wrong.

Keep in mind that i know these elective gender scans techs are probably not as experienced as our doctors office in many cases, but im just curious.

We dont have our anatomy scan scheduled until February...and i sure would like to know before then :)

    I had one with DD that was correct at 16 weeks.  We distinctly saw the 3 lines, so it was clear to all of us.  The u/s place I'm going to won't do gender u/s until 16 weeks, and we're getting one done this time at 16 wks, 2 days.  The tech works in an OB/GYN's office 4 days a week and works at this business only on Fridays, so she has plenty of experience.  I guess it can vary by location though.

    I found a place that will do it at 16 weeks and the "guarantee" a correct answer. I can't remember what happens if it's wrong..I guess you get your money back?

    I'm considering doing it if we can't get a guess at our NT scan today. It's $55 and that seems well spent to me!

    I want so badly to do this since I will actually be going home for the holidays. However, MH doesn't see the point in spending the money and says he's ok to wait. It's only $65 at the place I found. I'll be one day shy of the 16 weeks they do it at so hope they'd let me in anyway. Then of course, would get confirmation at my OB's scan, which she doesn't do until 20-24 weeks.

    My midwife suggests not getting too many ultrasounds because of the heat generated during the process so we are waiting for our 20 week scan which will be the last one.  I'd love to know sooner, but I guess I will wait.

    I go tomorrow night. I'm hoping its right! Our a/s is on Jan 5.

    I'm having it done in Early Jan and it says you must be at least 16 weeks.

    I found a place that does it at 15 weeks, but I'm not having luck convincing DH that it's worth it ($69).  I did peek at the reviews on yelp.com to see if I could get a sense of the place's experience so you might try that.

    The place we use is very reliable and even offers a full refund if they are wrong. We used them with DD and found out at 13w4d. This time we waited until I was 15w and we were able to see it was a boy very easily.
