Follow up to first court appearance

I went to court on Monday for the Motion for Temp. CS. It was the first time I'd seen her father since the hospital. (7.5m). I was horribly nervous. And then when he came in I realized he was about to throw up and all my worries went out the window. He hasn't seen her, called to check on her, asked to see her, or paid anything. The state says he owes me X, he offered to pay Y (teennnyyy tiny- it wouldn't even cover one week diapers/formula). Both atty's went in the judges chambers, presented their paperwork, spoke their arguments and the judge will make a ruling. When? We don't know. Might be this week. Might be February.

The judge did decide that he should have 4 visitations before January. The first one is to take place this Saturday, at my home for 4.5 hours. The next 3 visits he gets to take her. And there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

And that's that.    ~sigh~

    Thank you- I'm sorry too. I had not shed one single tear this week until I read your response. And now I'm sitting at work with my door closed trying to cry quietly. It's so hard to be strong every.single.second. And who else would ever understand the enormity and weight of situation besides other single mommies?

    {Hugs}

  • {hugs back}. i understand about being strong. It's really tough having to deal with all of this. But hang up your "superwoman" cape for a few & allow yourself to cry every now & then. Tears don't equal weakness (that's what I tell myself when they come from out of nowhere and I can't will them away!)

  • I'm so sorry that happend!  I'm shocked that a judge would order such a long visit in your home!  And then let him take your DD after just one visit.  Her dad is a stranger to her.

    Hopefully a CS determination will be made soon!

    Hang in there.

  • Given that he hasn't bothered to inquire about her before now, how likely is it that he will show up for the visits?
  • Very Likely. He's the type that plays the : Woe is me! thing. He won't make a move until the courts say so. Not because he doesn't have to/want to, but because it makes for a better WOE story to everyone he knows.    kwim?

    If you and I weren't 1500 miles apart, I might question it. LOL That's why I think you're *me*, just in another state. Big Smile
