If you plan to share your pregnancy at Christmas, how are you doing it?

I think we will tell immediate family at Christmas. I think I might buy DS an "I'm going to be a Big Brother" tee shirt. Instead of having him wear it, I'll wrap it up. Then, have him open it last. We'll see if I can think of anything else. What will you do?

We ordered photo Christmas cards with myself, DH, and our puppy on the front & it says:"Merry Christmas from the FOUR of us".. Plan on either wrapping them up or putting them on top of their actual gifts. Not sure yet.

We are doing the same thing for two parts of the family. One part, Grandma asked for a collage picture frame. So I'm getting pictures printed out of all the grandkids and filling it a little bit and putting a piece of paper in there that says, "Coming in August 2012!" I am so excited next weekend can't come fast enough!!!

I had ornaments custom made for each grandparent with their chosen grandparent "name". Will box them together so each set can open at the same time hopefully.

His parents are coming to my parents for Christmas dinner, and so we are going to have them open there gifts then and my mom will open her last one which announces that were pregnant!

My mom is getting a year of memories book that she gets every year but this year it has a picture on the last page she wont expect!

His mom is getting a baby template for making clothes since shes a seamstress!

And our dads are getting Mugs, his dad is getting a magic mug that says grandpa to be when you put a hot liquid in it and my father is getting a mug that says hands down our poppy is best and has 3 handprints!

This will be My parents 3rd grandchild and his parents 1st!

This is the picture that we made and then put in a frame. We wrapped it up and sent it with the rest of their gifts for them to open. We are SKYPEing with them on Christmas, and are going to be opening gifts, (kinda like we are there with them). This is a the bottom of the box, so they will open it up last! I can't wait!!!

I have a little brother who still lives with my parents so we always go over there on xmas morning and open gifts with them. I wrapped a separate gift to "the family" from Dh and myself. I'm going to get my little brother to open it and in it I put in a bottle, a teddy bear, a jar of baby food, spoons, pacifiers, etc. so I'm hoping that the gift will explain itself. I'm SUPER close to all of my family so it is going to be a long week and a bit!! GL with all of your announcements ladies!

We are only telling my Immediate family and DH's, once we hit 12 weeks we will announce to the rest. For my parents, whom we just told about 4 weeks ago that we have been trying since May 2010 because I needed my mom's support, I got her a onesie that says "what happens at grandma's stays at grandmas" For my dad I got him a picture frame that says grandkids and I plan on putting a picture of the pregnancy test in it with the Due Date on it. My sister has no idea we have been trying so we will tell my parents first then have her open her last present with all of us knowing. I got her a stocking with a bunch of summer things in it. I got oversized sunglasses and on them I am writing, "Auntie 2 Be, August 2012"

then for his family I bought a childrens book and plan to write something on the inside.

I bought "Grandchildren" frames from Kohls. Where the picture goes, I made up something with cardstock and sticker letters that says "Picture coming August '12".

We are big sports fans, so we got a onesie of our local football team for each set of grandparents. I'll wrap each of them and put some sort of note like "there is a new Broncos fan in the family." I can't wait to see their faces!!! (My MIL & FIL already have grandchildren but this will be my parents first!)

These are all great ideas!! I was thinking of making cookies, I bought cookie cutters in the shapes of onesies, rocking horse, teddy bear and carriage. I was going to ice them in yellows and greens and write on them: Summer 2012. Then serve them to everyone on a big platter. It will be my parents, my sister, her husband and my 2 nieces. It will be fun to see who figures it out first!

Then I plan to do the same with dh's family, for his parents and 2 brothers. It will be the first grandbaby on their side so I know they will be thrilled.

I also bought books for each of the grandparents to fill in for the baby - the grandparent memory books.

I love the idea of the picture that says "Picture $0.66, Frame $5.00, Seeing your faces when you realize there are 3 of us in this picture, priceless!"!!

And BTW, this just made me cry.. yep.. I'm definitely pregnant. I don't know if we will tell people at Christmas just because it seems so early still. I'll be 7 weeks Christmas day. I'm afraid of jinxing myself..

My husband has come up with 2 ideas for his family.

Idea 1: DH is a carpenter and we are doing an addition to our house to make room for baby #2. His plan is to pull out the drawings and point out what each change to the house is and, of course, lastly point out the new baby's room.

Idea 2: We always play a game on Christmas Eve and he would suggest Pictionary where he would not draw what was on his card and instead draw something to get everyone to guess that I am pregnant.

Any votes??

I just asked DH if he would want to do this. We always play pictionary with his family. The only problem I have is that the other team (his parents) always look at the word we are drawing for each other. I don't think it would be that big of a deal, but I think it would cause some confusion.

Our other ideas are (1) the picture frame someone else already mentioned and (2) set up the camera to take a "picture" (but set it to video) and have everyone set up for a family picture and them just tell them as the "picture" is about to go off.

I would prefer the pictionary of picture frames, but I think DH is leaning towards the other.

I bought onesies for each of my immediate family, and then I ironed on a design that says "it's happening, you're going to be a GRANDMOM (or aunt, uncle, etc.), estimated arrival August 2012." I wrapped them up and am going to have them all open them at the same time this weekend when they come for Christmas. My brother's girlfriend is going to take pictures of it so I can capture all their faces. :-)

I love this idea, I did it with my DS. Their faces WERE priceless.

This time around we'll just have DS walk in with a "big brother" shirt on and see how long it takes everyone. I'll be setting up a video camera on a tripod as if I'm getting ready to record him opening presents and hoping to catch their reactions.

This is also how I told DH and he didn't even see it for a couple minutes, too funny.

Just wanted to say I am stealing the "grandchildren" frame idea.

DD is the only grandchild on each side. So everything we've purchased always says "grandchild." The grandchildren frame with a picture of her wearing her big sister shirt will be perfect!

Our friends did the same exact thing with the picture and the cost of photo, frame and knowing there were 3 people in the pic. They emailed it to everyone and it was cute.

We bought the shirt that says "This little elf is going to be a big sister!" -- we're just going to let people read it. i'm excited about it!! i'm surprised i've held it in this long! last pregnancy - we told people as soon as we got the BFP!

I bought a new stocking and am going to fill it with bottles and rattles and baby shoes, and hang it with our family's stockings on Christmas morning when no one is looking. My SFather films the opening of presents Every Christmas so I will have my mom's reaction to it on film. I'm really excited about it.
