mood swing tips

I'm currently on day 7 of 10 of 150mg of clomid and well I wasn't the most pleasant person today.  Does anyone have any tricks to dealing with the mood swings and irritably?  It got so bad tonight I didn't talk to my dh for 2 hours cause I didn't want to be bitchy.

Re: mood swing tips

  • Ah, I remember those Clomid days. My best tactic personally, and in all honesty, was to just not talk when I felt those swings. I was not that successful at it. Hope it gets easier for you!!

  • I had a frank conversation with my husband before starting our current cycle, that I just needed him to be extra patient with me, and loving and caring, and to know that any outbursts were just a function of the excess hormones. I haven't had too much of a problem so far (just one emotional breakdown, which was all crying), but if I know I'm going to blow up, I just try to remove myself from the situation and do something like reading, watching tv, or sewing (a major outlet for me). Sounds like you're doing all you can!

  • I have warned the people around me letting them know I could go off for no reason. I let my DH know when I am feeling crazy so he knows a head of time. I try to make note of my feelings and emotions and keep them in check. Being aware is half the battle. If you have some type of hobby I'd suggest doing that when you are feeling off. GL!

This! I was one of the lucky ones, as I didn't have any real side effects from Clomid (other than a thin lining, but that didn't affect my mood!). But, progesterone makes me psycho. DH says that he can handle the mood issues, as long as I'm aware of them. Just try to be honest with him and let him know it is a bad day/hour.
