is there anything i can do

to make my baby turn heads down? im 35 weeks and she will not turn. i know i still have lots of time for her to do that but i swear this child has the biggest head and she keeps it firmly planted under my rib cage.

so are there any old wives tales about helping her along or is it entirely up to her?

  • Check out spinningbabies.com, consider trying to find a webster trained chiro, and talk to your OB about a version.

  • Are you sure the baby is head up? I have a lot of pain and pressure in my rib cage and it's from his feet. He is really low already for me head down and I still get a lot of rib pain. Did your OB tell you the baby was still head up?

  • Don't know how much help this is going to be, but I used my exercise ball as was mentioned a couple of days ago. Just light bouncing and hip swaying. However, my baby was already head down, just not in the exact position it should be in. I went to my doc today and LO is nestled down in the right spot.

I also suggest www.spinningbabies.com  One mom on this board got her baby to turn by playing music to her pelvic area while placing an ice pack on the top of her belly.  Apparently the baby will move towards the music and away from the cold.

  • My baby was still breech at 30 weeks and my doctor told me to do "downward dog" twice a day for a few minutes.  She insisted this would help baby turn upside down.  Fortunately for me, by 32 weeks my LO had turned on her own and I never did the daily downward dog.  That said, when she recommended it, she said she had a former patient who was still breech on her scheduled c-section day (due to breech baby).  Anyway, the lady woke up in the morning and stayed in downward dog for quite awhile.  By the time she got to the hospital, the baby had turned upside down!!!!  Can't say from experience, but I would think it's worth a shot?
