A little scared

 I am a little scared of a vbac. Not for the normal reasons, so I feel kinda silly. I am terrified that I am going to rip in half. I pushed with my first and he just refused to come out. The cord was wrapped around his neck and he was sunny side up. I know there are reasons he didn't budge, but I am so nervous that I am going to tear badly.  Anyone else worried about this?

    I was worried about all those things. I was almost relieved when they initially told me I had to have a RCS. But after my successful VBAC I am soooo happy I didnt have another c/s.  You may have tearing and things may happen but they may not. Its normal to have these fears but the benefits of a vag birth are wonderful! I am totally recovered at 2 weeks pp.

    Even if you tear a little, it's nothing compared to the 8 inch incision across your middle.   Just take the time to labor down before pushing and listen to your provider.  They will try to guide you to avoid tearing.  Your next LO is not likely to have the cord wrapped and be sunny side up. 

    Of all the ladies here who came back with tears, they all said it was so much better than the c/s recovery.

    Thanks Ladies! I needed a little perspective. It is definitely nothing compared to c-section incision.

    My c/s was for the same reason.  Also I am tiny, under 5 feet tall.  So I worried about this some too.  In the end I had a great VBAC.  I had a little tear but it didn't even need stitches.  And my baby had no problem fitting--even though he was bigger than my first baby that got stuck, he was not sunny side up and that made all the difference.

    I had a second-degree tear with my VBAC baby, and it was still an easier recovery than with my c-section. I also didn't feel myself tear at the time (I didn't have an epidural or anything). hth
