jodi

how are you keeping C away from the TV for 3 weeks.  Where does she go when you are all watching TV?  It's so integral to our home.. I just can't imagine it unless I locked Sara in her room all day, every day (which sounds like a treat after the day I've had with her).

Re: jodi

  • They have tv in their rooms. They go to bed around 7:30/8 and tv goes off at 8:30 (9:00 on weekends). So she didn't lose tv during the day. She lost it at night (which is when it matters most to them). That said, at these ages, that's really the only time they watch it. They aren't in the house until 5:30/6. We might watch while eating dinner (gasp) but there isn't much time between when they get home and go to bed. And we have to fit in homework, reading, dinner and showers. There was more tv when they were your kiddos ages!! ;)

  • And just to add to that, I already gave her the TV back!  Well, Joe did.  But he did tell her he would have to discuss it with me first (thankfully -- he wouldn't normally do that).  But she agreed not to act like that again, it had been about a week.  I think she had learned her lesson.  And 3 weeks is a LLOOONNNGG time (in my eyes, so I can only imagine it feels like years to her!).  I was carried away with that punishment but ....

anyway, she has it back!  :)  Broke my own #1 rule - no empty threats!  Eh, rules are made to be broken, right?!

  • I lasted I think 4 days with my 'I'm not taking you out of the house together again for a month' consqeuence.

ALTHOUGH our first outing 'back' I had to reinstate the consequence.  This time for 10 days.

  • LOL!

Hang in there!  I promise you - -it will get better.
I swear, I chose the WORST 15 months to stay home with those two devils.  Cam was 2.75-4 and Joey was 4.5-6.  The first few months weren't bad.  It was spring/summer, we were at the beach, busy, etc.  But that last 9-12 months was just horrible.  They were 3 and 5.  Not pleasant times.

The thought of grocery shopping would reduce me to tears!
