RSC and bronchitis?

So my RCS is scheduled for Friday and DS gave me a cold that has developed into bronchitis. My ribs and my stomach are already sore, I can't even imagine how horrible this is going to be. I also have developed cholestasis (they deliver early due to increased risk of stillbirth after 37 weeks) so this little guy has to come out. I have my last doc appt tomorrow so obviously I'm going to see what he says. Anyone been through this? Please tell me there is some magic drug out there that will make me stop coughing before I have my stomach cut open. :)

  • I have no advice but I am so sorry.

  • I just went through this.  I had a terrible case of bronchitis.  I was put on prednisone and codeine, nothing would stop the cough.  The only thing that made it better was time.  I asked for a stomach binder in the hospital and they put it on me in the OR when my csection was done and that was very helpful.  The pressure on my stomach made it not hurt as bad when I coughed.

  • Oh thank you! I was already planning on bringing my little pillow to hold over incision when I cough, I'll have to grab a binder while I'm running errands today.
  • It wasn't bronchitis but I developed a horrible cough a few days before my scheduled c-section.  I agree - pillows helped big time.  And lots of water close by (like on your tray in case you're by yourself and need to reach without stretching) - plus cough candies, etc, the hospital is dry anyway so I always kept those close.
