Okay ladies...I have just about made it to 9 months and i'm going to continue to at least 1yr. Here's the prob., I am so sick of pumping three times a day at work. I would love to cut back to 1 or less pump session a day at work once my dd hits a year, but still nurse at home. How does this work for you? What do you do on the weekends, give the three daytime bottles of cow's milk and then bf at your normal times? How does my body know to do the right thing? Should I definitely keep my lunchtime pump session to keep my supply up? Sorry for all the questions. I really don't mind bf my baby girl, but i totally hate pumping. One more thing...what did you chane to when your lo weaned? Cow's milk? Coconut milk???? Thanks!

Re: Partial weaning at 1 year?
Your body will adapt, just take it slow and phase out one pumping session a week. LO has been partially weaned since 7 months and LO is doing fine. We do 2 sessions during the week and 3 on weekends. She gets rice milk at daycare (4 oz sippy cups 2x day) plus water.
kellymom.com has a good article on partial weaning. it's very common.don't let it stress you out.

At 1 your baby only needs to nurse 3-4 times a day to get the proper amount of milk to need no substitute, You could offer cow's milk, or an alternative if you choose while away.
