Does your DS have a play kitchen? Does he like it?

I think DS would really enjoy this, but DH is skeptical. But I think this because DS loves to "help" us in the kitchen when we're cooking. And if we're doing something (like cutting on the cutting board) and he can't see it from his vantage point, he always asks for his step stool.

I just wonder if his interest will translate over to the play kitchen, or if he only likes the real stuff because we're in there doing the work.

Plus, I think my soon-to-be DD will eventually enjoy it too. So, it's a good investment, right? (They're on sale on Gilt right now.)

  • We got a used set for DS and he likes it. I wouldn't say it's his favorite thing, but he gets use out of it. He especially likes to make us coffee. :)

This is us exactly. We gave it to DS last christmas. It's not really a favorite but he still plays with it pretty regularly, especially getting mommy coffee!

  • We don't have a play kitchen but there is one at his preschool and he loves it.  He loves helping in the real kitchen as well.  We don't have room for one at our house.

  • He seems to enjoy it even more than his sister does most of the time.  They both use it quite a bit.

Oh my goodness, exactly both of these! DS got it for Christmas last year and likes to make 'supper' and bring me coffee. He (and DD) get pretty good use out of it.

  • He's played with his since about 14 months.  He has a Dora kitchen I got at a garage sale.  It's not his favorite toy, but it does get a lot of use.  He also likes to cook with us.

  • I got a nice one on craigslist pretty cheap.  DS payed with it the first few weeks and now doesn't touch it.  Over the holidays at a friends house though he was all about their play kitchen which was basically the same.  You never know what to expect.

Ours wasn't used (I couldn't find a nice used one...boo), but this is us, too! He loved the one at school, so we bought him one for Christmas last year.  He def plays with it, but not constantly. I am glad we bought it. He makes me coffee, too : )

  • Just got DS a play kitchen from Aldi for $35.  I was wondering the same thing but figured we would get it since it was so cheap.
  • DS and my nephew (same age as DS) LOVE their play kitchen! They play with it all of the time.
  • My DS really loves his.  He doesn't play with it every day but it's really cute when he puts on his Home Depot apron and makes us dinner.  I think a play kitchen is a wise investment for all kids.

  • He really likes ours.  He's getting some more pots and pans for Christmas.  We rotate our large toys from basement to upstairs, so it's down now, but he loves to cook us stuff.  My 10 year old niece, 7 year old nephew, and 5 year old niece all play with it to.  The friend I bought it from was just able to get rid of it this summer, because her 3rd grader was still playing with it prior to this point.  So...I'd say worthwhile investment.
