2nd Trimester

weakened pelvic floor muscle or something of concern?

For the last week I have been feeling this pressure feeling, kinda like a tampon is in.  I called the nurse on call and she basically said as long as there is no leaking and bleeding, things should be fine.  It doesn't really hurt, just a little bothersome because it's just there and taking up my concentration since I'm always thinking about it.  My next appt. is next Weds.  I am wondering if I should wait or request a sneak in visit.  This is LO #2  and I'm at 17 weeks now, is it possible that it's just weakened muscles?

  • I've had pelvic pain and pressure since week 14, good times.

  • I was having this problem and doing a shitton of kegals made the pain go away.

  • You know your body best and I would mention it to your doctor, but really, this sounds fine and incredibly normal. It seems to me that most pregnant women experience this. I certainly do off and on for lengthy periods (sometimes this pressure seems to last the whole day) and it certainly is uncomfortable. But I've learned that it's just one of those things you can come to expect. My doctor says that unless it's accompanied by very painful cramping there's no cause for alarm. It's just baby pushing down on you.
