I have posted more times than I can remember about LO's sleep misadventures.
Lately we have gotten into a pretty good pattern that I'm happy with - he goes down around 7 or 7:30 with some rocking and nursing and then sleeps until 5 AM. Then he sometimes will go back down until 6-ish, but sometimes stays up. I haven't been too thrilled with the early waking and we tried CIO until 6:30, but it didn't really work (he'd poop every time we tried it).
Last night, he was extra tired because he didn't nap at day care, but he went down as usual at 7:30. He woke up as usual at 4:45 am, and I let him fuss for a few minutes while I went to the bathroom - about half the time I do that, I manage to get another 30 minutes of sleep. He quieted back down pretty quickly and I went back to bed without even checking on him, assuming I'd be back up within the hour.
I woke up at 7:30 to silence, rolled over, checked the clock, freaked out, ran into his room, and he was just starting to stir.
My little boy slept 12 hours! With just a 5 minute wakeup! This is HUGE!
Who knows if it will ever happen again, but it was wonderful. And I am so glad that I might have to start setting my alarm again!
Re: Glorious, glorious sleep
Yeah for progress! Hopefully the pattern continues.
This is great!
