Where to go for an overnight? (NBR)

DH & I were talking about possibly taking an overnight trip sometime after the New Year (most likely in February or March...NOT for V-Day).  We talked about Niagara on the Lake but he doesn't drink wine so we're not sure if it would be worth it.  I was thinking about maybe going to a Sabres game and spending the night in Buffalo and asking you ladies for nice restaurant recs.  Or going to Philly for a night (it's less than a 3 hour drive for us).  Any other ideas?

  • I love Philly and Boston.  One of those would be my vote.

If you head to the B-lo I'm certain we could all send suggestions of restaurants and hotels for you.

  • I'd do fallsview on the Canadian side. Lots of restaurants and shopping/casino. If that Sheraton deal that MrsWhite posted about is on the American side, it's right across from the casino but there is literally nothing else around, just a Starbucks and Fridays. The hotel looks nice though, and it's pretty new.
  • Boston is a great choice. So many options of things to do.

I can't remember exactly where you are located but some other ideas: Montreal, Lake Placid, NYC, Mystic, Toronto...

  • We did Belhurst for our first night away.  It was close enough that I felt okay :).  We got a couples' massage, had wonderful meals and the rooms at the Vinifera were super nice.  The outlet mall was close and then we went to Rochester for the following day.

  • There was a really great looking deal on Living Social the other day for 2 nights at Utica Hotel (or Hotel Utica?).  It looked great!  I actually thought about nabbing that one for DH and I.  It was $185 and included champagne, cheese and chocolates on arrival, breakfast both days, dinner at their upscale restaurant and 2 passes to an art museum.

Canadian side of Niagara Falls (amazing views)

    Glenora on Seneca Lake

    Turning Stone for some pampering

Poconos (not too far of a drive)... they have some great romantic getaways for very good prices.  Check Travelocity... they always have "Last Minute" deals for the Poconos

Let us know what you choose!  I'm so excited for you!
