TTC After a Loss

Whole milk...

I juuuuuust switched from 2% to fat free milk to try to lose weight (BMI's around 29 give or take) because I heard being at a healthy weight will help you conceive... but then I heard whole milk products would also help you conceive... WWYD? Focus on losing weight or focus on fertility foods?

Re: Whole milk...

  • I would stick with whole milk. The difference in calories and fat isn't significant if you're talking about one glass a day, and it has been shown to improve fertility (and some studies even say it helps with weight loss).

  • Stick with the whole milk and try to cut back somewhere else in your diet.  It should be pretty easy to make up for the minimal increase in fat/calories.  Probably even just a few more minutes of exercise.
  • I agree with the previous posts!  I have a completely unscientific theory that healthy-but-high-fat foods don't make you fat.  If you were eating a bunch of candy or something, that's one thing.  But healthy whole milk (or avocado, etc., etc.)?  I don't see anything wrong with that!

I'm allergic to the fat in milk, so I have to drink skim. I'm not much help. Sorry!
