I started walking and doing weights at 8 wks just no ab work yet. Around 12 wks I started doing ab work but kept it light. At 16wks pp I started couch to 5k and I've been running ever since. It's probably the one thing that has helped me lose all the baby weight plus 20lbs
I started power walking around 5wks post cs. I started light aerobics wearing a support band at 8, and literally started laughing at my first attempt to complete a sit up! I would say by 12 weeks I was in full workout mode but continued to wear the support band. My belly jiggled when I exercised and it grossed me out so I tried to keep it under control. I got back to my pre-preg size but couldn't drop the last 4lbs. Hoping to have the same luck this time...if not better. GL!
I'm a yoga instructor so I was also anxious to get back to working out but even though I was in shape before I got pregnant I didnt feel ready at 8 weeks. I waited until i think about 12 wks to do yoga. I did however walk alot in the weeks before that and I really think that's how I lost most of the weight. Try not to do too much abdominal work at first, twists or backbending. Don't push yourself, take it easy for a while.
I started running again at 6 weeks post c/s. At around 14 weeks pp, I ran a 10k. It depends on how you feel! After my first run my incision site was a little sore but that was it.
Re: Exercise After C
I am 7 weeks out now and did my first walk/run last night with no problems, and started walks 1 week out post c-section.
