I have decided that I want to attempt a VBAC. My doctor is somewhat on board, but acted like it probably won't happen. I am not letting him crush my dreams. I have been doing some research and found a great midwife practice. I have a friend that had a successful VBAC with this practice. You also have the same midwife at every visit, and she is there with you during labor. They just do not deliver at the hospital I had C at. I loved all of the nurses and the environment. I have a really hard time dealing with changes. I know that I am doing what is best for my chances for a VBAC, but I am still nervous about changing doctors and hospitals. I am sure some of you have done the same. Are you happy you did it?

I delivered my oldest DD via CC at a really nice hospital in our area- it also has an insane CC rate. They get a lot of money from all of the C-sections!

I switched OBs to my fabulous Dr but that also meant I had to deliver at a hospital that is much older, and not as nice. Not even close. The food was horrible, but was great at my other.

But, with my CC- I was at the hospital for 3 days, with my VBAC, 24 hours after she was born we were leaving and would have sooner if I had not been Group B + and they wanted to have her there for 24 hours. Honestly, though I loved my L&D nurse, and could totally live with the room being not as nice becuase the birth experience was AMAZING.

I switched midwives and hospitals to VBAC. The hospital I VBACed in is considered less desirable than the one that I had my CS in, but I had a great experience and I am glad I did it.

I had my c/s at "one of the best hospitals for natural births" which I've recently learned is a load of BS--their c/s rate is 40%! I was pressured into one intervention after another, including the c/s. Nobody there cared that I was emotionally scarred from it. They were just glad mom and baby were healthy because that's how you avoid a lawsuit.

Before even TTC I switched to a home birth midwife and love her. There's no stress with her, there's no doubt that I will be able to have a VBAC (barring the placenta being over my scar or any emergencies). And I don't have to fight her or nurses for what I want/need when in labor. If I had stayed with my previous midwife at the hospital, I would have had to fight all the requirements they put on VBACs. I'm much happier, calmer and more confident that things will be better all around this time!

I switched hospitals to deliver #2. It was totally worth it to me. The 2nd hospital is a much more birth friendly hospital. They were much more willing to let me do things the other hospital wouldn't have. I'm glad I switched, my birth experience would have been a LOT different (and likely ended in c/s) if I was at the other hospital.

I didn't switch hospitals, but I did go with the one that has a good VBAC rate. It's not a fancy hospital at all, and the nurses were just so-so (with my c-section, the women's hospital was great, everyone was v nice, etc etc). I just wanted a VBAC and didn't care about afterwards, like a PP said. It was definitely worth it!
