I tore up and down only because the Dr. used the vacuum and I wasn't contracting when he pulled.
Sex was uncomfortable for 6 months after giving birth. The pain felt like when you lose your virginity, a stinging, burning pain...not enjoyable at all.
I'm hoping I don't need the vacuum again. With my daughter she was wedged in there pretty good and I would have taken an episiotomy if it had been offered, my Dr. simply pulled and I tore.
Since I had a c/s I couldn't choose one of the options you gave, but my OB's practice does not do episiotomies at all, so I would not have gotten one anyway.

I had a big bad 3rd degree tear and had no problems with sex at all. Add me to the "It got better" club. Only the first time pp was there a little discomfort but it wasn't unreasonable.

Re: Clicky: Episiotomy or Tear
I was also going to add something about fisting, but didn't want the poll to get too out of hand.
I don't know if that was intentional but either way LOL!

Is this an option? If it is I hope this happens to me.
