MIL Vent

So I took my MIL to the Christmas thing for P's school.  When the teacher handed out the craft gifts MIL took the one and only ornament craft for herself.  When I expressed that I would like to have it she kept it anyway even knowing I wanted it and how inappropriate it was for her to take it over me.  WTH?  I asked the teacher and she said she would make another one tomorrow but I cannot.believe. MIL would really do that.  Yes, I can.  OMG I am so upset.

    I guess your MIL doesn't care about getting invited to the school function next year. If she did she would have behaved herself!

    I would do the same thing. Go over, admire her tree and once she is out of the room, take it and go. that is just rude as anything

    No offense, but where is your DH in this matter?  I would make him call his mom and get it back.  That is really rude.

    He wasn't there bc he had to work.  I plan to handle this over the weekend.  Polly hung it on her tree with her so I know P will know its supposed to be there so I intend to get it back after Christmas and tell her no more bogarting preschool or other crafts unless they were specifically crafted FOR her on grandparent's day.  I agree she was so rude and out of line but I don't want to upset P by getting it back now.

    that sounds like a smart move. although i think just taking it back would be hysterical!

    Wow MIL really manipulated that one. I still wouldn't be against taking it back off her tree and just explaining to P that it wasn't supposed to be on her tree.
