B.O.B. Stroller car seat adapter question

Hi All!

My husband and I went to Babies R Us the other day to start to look at strollers and car seats and i think we decided we want a B.O.B. CE and the safety first OnBoard 35 Infant carrier.  The obvious issue is that the B.O.B. stroller car seat adapters do not fit that specific car seat... :( I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or a similar one and if there is a way to create/alter/etc the adapted to enable it to fit the Safety First car seats?

Thanks for any and all help! Congrats to everyone in our shoes, such a special and exciting time!

Re: B.O.B. Stroller car seat adapter question

  • No way around it.  If you want that stroller, you'll have to get one of the seats that fits the adapter.

  • Why are you attached to that carseat? I'd just go with a Chico or a Graco, both are excellent, highly reviewed, and compatible with the Bob. It's an awesome stroller.

  • Britax (Chaperone) is also compatible with the BOB- you just follow the Graco instructions.

  • I don't know when you are expecting, but I'd consider if you'd actually be using the BOB stroller so early on as to need a carseat adapter. They are pretty bulky and heavy, so not my first choice for runs to the store or quick trips ( you have to remove the adapter to collapse the 25 lb stroller).  If you end up with a c-section, this much weight and bulk to comfortably deal with yourself for the first few weeks.  Plus if you are expecting a baby during cold weather, there's not much reason to be subjecting LO to extensive time outdoors.  You can place a baby directly into the BOB stroller after 8 weeks or about when they have some head control, however you can't take them on rough terrain or run with the stroller until about 16 weeks according to manufacturer's instructions.  I'd recommend getting a snap stroller in the beginning for convenience and practicality. You can find them for close to the price of a BOB adapter if you find a good sale or use a coupon.

Totally not true. I had a c-section and the Bob with adapter was my only stroller-- it was great. And you do NOT have to remove the adapter to collapse the stroller.
