I had a planned section last Thursday and packed too much. I changed into my own gown Thursday and Friday and came home in yoga pants and a hoodie. I made sure I had Chapstick ad toiletries, my iPad and bedroom shoes. That is pretty much all I used. I had different gowns for Emma. I enjoyed changing her more than I changed myself, it was easier!
I brought my Boppy which helped with nursing, especially since I couldn't move as well. Also, this isn't so much c/s related, but I wish I brought a nursing cover since there are a million people coming in and out all day.
Make sure the pants to go home in are not low cut. That the elastic band sits above the c section scar...At least for me anything touching it was aweful I couldn't stand it....Yoga pants are definately the way to go!!!
And I second the nursing cover, I am taking one this time b/c last time was aweful. And rubber soled slippers b/c they want you to walk a good bit to get the healing started and you may be weak knee'ed at first and those floors can be slick without the rubber soles.

Last time I brought a ton of stuff I didn't use. I did use the boppy though and don't know how I would have nursed without it, it kept the baby off of my incision. I brought yoga pants last time, but did not want to wear pants so I stayed in the hospital gown the whole time. This time I plan on bringing two nightgowns with buttons, so I can wear something comfy of my own and still have easy access for breastfeeding and incision checks. I know some people prefer to wear the mesh panties home, but I want my own, so I will also bring some granny panties that come up above the incision site (buy them in a dark color in case you do have any pad leaking issues). Chapstick and my own toiletries are also on my list.

Good luck!
