I'm REALLY trying to motivate myself to finally learn how to use my editing software. This pic is the most I've done as far as editing goes. So, my photo expert friends...wdyt? What else should I do? {If you have suggestions, please pretend I'm 5 years old when explaining to me what to do!}
Re: Opinions please - photo
Here it is -
And I have Photoshop Elements 6 - and I'm embarrassed to say it's been on my computer for almost 4 years and I still don't know what I'm doing. I'm so intimidated by it!
I think you did well with taking the photo - it doesn't seem too dark or anything. A lot of editing just comes down to personal style. if it were my pic, I would rotate the photo so the curtains/window frames in the back are going straight up and down. I would also crop in a little more so that little sliver of window frame to the left is comepletely out of the photo OR put more of it in - if that makes sense. To me it's a little more choppy and distracting with it like that and you don't want to take away from your subject. I like how you cropped it to the side and would keep her on that "rule of thirds" line, but just go in a little further. It's a super cute pic.
I haven't ever used elements - but I'm going through the same thing with Lightroom right now. I HAD to have it but have barely used it because it's really confusing to me - I've used photoshop for ohhh...14 years and I am an old dog for sure
But keep playing with it! There are tons of editing tutorials out there, even on youtube. So you can always try googling if you are trying to do something specific.
Love the tip to rotate it more -
