Austin Babies

Ok, so FYI, 2 is too young for the "b00by touching" talk...

While changing into my pj's, Cam reached out for a boob. I nicely told her that its not nice to touch other people's boobies. This is how the rest of our convo played out...

Cam: Not nice to touch boobies?

Me: Right, it's not nice to touch anyone's boobies, Cam.

Cam: Oh... can touch my boobies?

Me; You can touch your body if you are at home. And mommy, daddy, or a doctor can touch you if they are helping you.

Cam: Doctor touch my boobies?

Me: Maybe, if you need help and they ask first.

Cam: Big girls touch my boobies?  {she's a tad obsessed with all things "big girl" these days}

Me: No, I don't think big girls need to touch you.

Cam: I like to touch my boobies.

Me: Alright Cam, that's enough for now....

::at this point, we walked to the kitchen where DH was and Cam promptly told him that she was wearing pajamas and touched boobies.::

Ohhh boy. I reeeeally hope she doesn't go to school talking about touching boobies tomorrow.

:sigh:

  • LOL.  DS likes to talk about his magic wiener all the time.  I'm sure pre-k teachers hear it all.
  • have her come play over here, b/c ruby loves to talk boobies. the best is when she talks about sizes: aunt lo has big boobies, gigi has huuuuge boobies, mommy has tiny boobies.

  • I guess at some point I told the guys that if they ever saw a scary person to tell mommy and daddy.  And I guess in the same conversation that I said that no one was allowed to touch their pee-pees without mommy and daddy being around.  So, we saw a guy wearing a hoodie on the way home from school and both of my children yelled, "NO SCARY GUY!  DON'T TOUCH OUR PEE-PEES!"

I think I'm totally screwing my children's brains all up.

  • and to answer the when is too young to talk boobies....we started talking about that stuff when ruby was about c's age. i wanted to be sure she understood safe and not safe touching. at her well check last week, the doctor was examining her and ruby flinched a bit and got obviously nervous. the doctor congratulated her for protecting her body and i reminded her that mommy was in the room and that the doctor was just checking her body to make sure it was healthy. she immediately went back to her normal cheerful self and didnt make an issue of it. we talk about keeping our bodies safe casually as to not scare her, but frequently enough that she gets the important messages.

As much as you hate lol, I literally laughed out loud.
  • Nope, sounds about right. That's around the age where you have to remind little boys not to play with their privates in public too.

  • Lol!  that's awesome.  My boys don't know the word for boobies or breasts.  They've never asked.  But they do know the word for nipples so that's what they use instead.  I got a hug from one the other day.  His head was up on my shoulder.  He pushed away and said, "Wanna hug mommy's nipples." Then he scooched down and hugged me so that his head was on my boob.  Ha!
