I am struggling with what to get our son as his "big" gift for Christmas. I was thinking of getting him some sort of car garage set, as he loves his Hot Wheels. He also loves building things with wooden blocks. Very imaginative and into pretend-play. Any ideas??

I love these two beautiful children!
We got ds an ipod touch, a CAT excavator and some books. Santa is getting him the Imaginex batcave, tball set, plastic swords, M&D large floor puzzles. My mom and dad got him a battery powered 4 wheeler (one of the bigger ones) and an Ironman robot thingy.
He has a bunch of matchbox cars I got from yardsales and a bunch of legos from a friend so I didn't get any of those (although those are his favorite toys now).
* garage is a good idea. DS is getting one on I picked up on clearance earlier in the year.
* dress-up clothes -- super hero cape and so on
* construction toys
* play food -- M&d has some really cute sets
* books
* floor puzzles
ETA: My DD is also into pretend play so she is getting more food and a toy microwave for her kitchen and a stick pony as she pretends her little broom is a horse all the time. The ones nowadays come with sound.
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
We bought this for ds...
