DD was invited to her first friend bday party for a preschool classmate at a bounce place and I'm clueless. We don't know the child or the parents at all but I think going will be good for DD because she is so very shy but really loves physical stuff. I'm assuming I would stay and it's not a drop off thing (right? for 3-4 year olds?), it's less than 2 hours.
We've never been to another child's real party (just family parties or small playdates where we exchange with close friends). Any suggestion for a gift or what price range to spend? Would a puzzle/book in the $10-15 range work for this 4 year old?
Re: gift suggestion for preschool friend please
Ian was invited recently to a friend's 5th birthday party at a similar type of place. We are friendly with his parents, so we went, but even if we weren't, I would still be there to keep an eye on him. When talking to the boy's mom, she said she was leaving it up to the parents as to whether they wanted to stay or not. Some dropped and ran, which I'm not sure I could for a 5 year old, especially at such a crazy place, but many parents stayed (and many of the kids had some type of developmental disability, typically on the Spectrum, too. Would make me less inclined to drop and run, but whatever).
Anyway, I think the price range and gift idea you gave is perfect. No need to go over that, especially when you don't even know the child.
