NT Scan Dating question

Hello ladies! im am so confused right now, ive seen some of you post about having your NT scans as late as 14 weeks and have gotten great results. I requested the NT scan about 2 weeks ago (so i wouldve been 12 weeks) and the nurse told me i had to wait until 20weeks for an accurate rating, which i knew didnt seem right.

Anyways, at my appt. yesterday with my Ob, i asked again and he said it had to be done by 12weeks 6days, so i was too late. So i explained my confusion , andd he apologized and then explained that my risk for d.s and Trisomys was so low to try not to even worry. Easier said then done guy, lol.

So here i am, with no NT scan, which isnt really a big deal bc it wouldnt have changed a thing in mine and my Husbands mind for Baby. The fact that they gave me the wrong dates kinda makes me mad. And then to top it off, the nurse told me I'll only be 18weeks and some days @ my next appt. in January, so id have to wait until the beginning of Febuary to have my A/s scan...because they like to wait until 2o-24weeks to find babys sex...so im kind of sad about that as well.

After all of my babbling, lol, im wondering what are the dates you guys had your Nt scans? and, what are the prices usually on an A/s with a specialty u/s office? I wanted to start buying things for baby in January as we have nothing left from our 4y.o daughters

I was scheduled for 12wk0d, but when I arrived, baby was measuring 8 days ahead. Still in the range for a valid NT. My NT was just over $100, so I assume the a/s will be more than that since it is a much more involved scan.

I had mine at 11w5d, but I was told anytime between 11w0d and 13w6d is when it's supposed to be done. And, if it makes you feel any better, we have to wait until 20 weeks to find out the sex during our a/s.

I have mine scheduled for tomorrow. I'll be 12 weeks exactly.

She must have been confused on what you were asking for. That stinks that you missed the window though. It is a neat scan to have.

I had my NT this past Monday at 11 weeks & 4 days, and I measured right on track with that. My a/s is schedules for Jan 17th, and I believe I will be about 16 weeks then.

I had mine at 11w1d. Mine was covered by insurance as will be my a/s scan. That stinks that they messed that up for you! I would have been pissed!

I had mine at 12w0d. The baby was measuring right on track. Our insurance covered the scan, or at least I think it did, I haven't received a bill yet.

I have mine tomorrow at 13w5d.

When they scheduled the appointment, I said that I would be 14 weeks on the 17th, but she said as long as I wasn't 14 weeks at my appt. it should be fine.

I had my NT Scan scheduled at 11w0d and when I went it the ultrasound doctor (not my usual doctor) told me I was too early and they couldn't get a full read. So, I am scheduled to go back for a re-do at 13w2d. I think between weeks 11 and 13 seems to be common, with 11 being on the early-side. I was annoyed at the schedule confusion at my doctor's office as well, but am looking on the bright side -- two ultra-sounds instead of one!

I think the nurse got confused and thought you were asking about the anatomy scan.

My NT was originally scheduled for 12w5d, but when I showed up, the building was shut down due to a power outage (high winds). I was rescheduled for 13w5d. When I went in on that day, even though I wasn't 14w yet, the babies measured at 14w and 14w1d, so it was fine for the neck measurements, but too late for the accompanying blood work. The doctor said he would fudge it a little if I really wanted the blood work, but the results from that only tell you your odds. I am going back on the 29th for my amnio, so I'll get definite results with that.

Thank you all so much for your input=) I appreciate it! My insurance is great and will cover all of the tests so thats good. Were still deciding whether or not we'll go to a Spelciaty Ultrasound DR. for babys sex or not, since we do have to wait until Febuary to find out now. Whatever the sex, were just praying for a healthy baby!
