Re: ~*Weekly PG Check-in*~

  • QOTW: I'll be working through Dec 23 and then I'm free until Jan 3!!  I can't wait to have some time off and to **hopefully** get some things done around home and get all prepared for this baby.  I'll have some of my family in town for the holidays.  I think we're going to Six Flags this weekend -- I guess they do something for the holidays there?

Updates: I passed my 3 hr GD test!!  WHOOHOO!  I was so stoked.  I failed the 1hr by 3 pts the Monday after Thanksgiving - I'm sure all of the junk I ate over the weekend didn't help.

I had an appt on Monday and the baby has flipped again into position - hopefully she'll stay there because she's switched back and forth over my last couple of appts.

  • QOTW: No big plans for the rest of the year. I only get a few days off, so we are not going anywhere. I do hope to get the room that we are currently using as the playroom cleared out so that I can move all of Renee's stuff (the crib, changing table and rocker) in there and get Gracie's big girl bed in her room for Christmas since that is what Santa is bringing her. Time is running short, so I don't know if that is going to happen.

Update: We have the big u/s tomorrow and I am nervous that they are going to say we are having a boy instead. Not that it matters, but I am just kind of anxious to hear. Hopefully we learn that the placenta problems have resolved themselves and everything will be good from here on out.

  • QOTW: Lots of travel! We'll be gone for almost 2 weeks over the holidays visiting family. We'll go to PA to see my husband's family for a week and I'm really hoping there's snow so that DS and DH can go sledding :)

Update: Still feeling nauseated almost constantly and throwing up every day. Belly's getting bigger though! I have no idea how to do a PIP but I should figure it out so I can post a comparison bump from pregnancy #1 and #2. We find out on the 21st what these babies are and I'm having two cakes made with the icing in the middle being pink or blue. On the 22nd (DHs bday), we'll cut into them with all my family and find out what these babies are. I CAN'T wait!!

Congrats to Sarebear on your BFP!

  • QOTW: This weekend we're going to Houston for a family Christmas and the next we're heading to South TX for Christmas with DH's family.  I'm going to use my Christmas break to get things ready for the baby so I don't have to when school starts again.  (Finish the nursery, prep my bag, clean, etc.)  I know I still have awhile but this way it's done and I don't have to worry.  Oh yeah, I'm also finishing grad school this week!!

Update: We have a 3D ultrasound tomorrow and I'm so excited.  I really hope we can get a good picture of her face.  My midwife keeps commenting on my weight which is ticking me off because I've been averaging a lb a week but she acts like I'm living off donuts and cake.  Oh well...I need to not worry about it.  I've been sleeping like crap but I guess that's to be expected.

  • Well, Alex surprised us early and was born on December 3rd at 36w4d! My water broke at 1.30 am and he came at 7.32 am, so labor was short, but very intense. We were able to go home after 3 days and are now trying to get into some sort of routine. Because he is so little (5 lbs 9 oz) he has to eat every 2 hours, then I have to feed by syringe in addition to that and then pump, so my llife is happening in 1 hour stretches at the moment. It's tiring, but I know it'll get better Smile He is definitely the love of our lives and so, so cute! Here is a picture:

  • Yikes, I guess I'm part of this one now! Only 4 wks at this point, so I think I would be due in August.

QOTD: We are going to see my family at Christmas. I'm hoping MS hasn't kicked in, wish me luck!

Update: I got my progesterone tested yesterday and it was 30.1, which my OB said was a good number. So yay for that! I'm just hoping that these migraines go away. The past two days have been rough and I feel like I can feel another one coming on. Sad The OB gave me norco to take, but I can't take it at work, and she said she prefers I not take it. But I don't want them to get so bad that I'm puking and missing lots of work, or going to the ER! So I'm sticking with the acupuncture and crossing my fingers that they go away...

  • QOTD: DH and I don't have a ton of time off, so we're spending Christmas Eve with his family, and Christmas day with mine. We are taking a trip in January to spend some time with my dads family - and I'm really looking forward to that. It will be DD's first plane ride, so I'm slightly nervous, but excited all the same.

Update: I had another OB appointment yesterday and my BP is still on the rise, I gained 3 lbs in two weeks (yikes) and I'm showing traces of protein in my urine. She referred me back to the MFM I saw last time, and I get to meet with her tomorrow. I haven't started any medications yet, but it's only a matter of time.

  • QOTW: We're laying low this year and spending Xmas eve and Xmas day at home. I think my mom may come for a visit the week after Xmas, but I'm not certain.

Updates: not much new to report. Still trying to figure out this little guy's name. I go back and forth between freaking out that we haven't picked one and not really worrying about it. Thankfully the holidays are a good distraction. :)
  • QOTW:  I am working up until my due date (12/22), unless by some miracle I actually go into labor on my own before then.  Actually, my last day will be 12/21.  I WILL have a baby by Christmas, guaranteed (more on that below).  So we are not going anywhere, and have told all family and friends that anyone is welcome to come over, but they need to bring enough food to feed everyone because we're not cooking!

Update:  just back from my 39wk appt.  Now dilated to "just about"  3cm.  80% effaced.  Other good news:  baby is down, cervix is way down and "very anterior" (which was a new term to me but basically prime position for delivery - means he didn't have to reach too far to find it.)  Bag of water "right there and bulging", and even joked that if I had a crochet or knitting needle handy I might could take care of that myself...  Ha.  He stripped the membranes, which I'm hoping will bring on labor in the next couple days.

Meanwhile, I've still been contracting the same as I was last week, pretty much with the same frequency (4ish min apart) but they are not very productive contractions apparently, since I've only dilated 1cm since Friday night.

Anyway, I caved and allowed him to schedule an induction for my due date, which is next Thursday 12/22.  I originally was going to wait until 41wks before agreeing to an elective induction but I just couldn't help myself.  I love the idea of knowing I'm ready (he more than enthusiastically confirmed that today) and that by next Thurs I will be holding my baby, and by Christmas Eve we will all be home and can have Christmas at home.  And DH loves the peace of mind that baby will definitely be here before the new year - he wants that tax deduction, and to not have to pay another year's deductible since my insurance renews on 1/1/12.  (and he's super excited to meet baby - I don't mean to paint him as being all business and finance!!).  So that's where we're at!

ETA:  Congrats on your new baby, Ricola - he's adorable!  And congrats on your BFP, SareBear!

Also, I *think* AdamsKitten did post an update that she had her baby but can't remember for sure.  I'm more certain that Laura? (2nd in line) also did an announcement that her baby was born, maybe on the 9th or 11th or something?  <OMG, that would put me at the top of the list!  Indifferent >

  • QOTW: We'll be here for Christmas. My SIL and nephew are flying in for a couple weeks and my younger SIL is home from school. Looking forward to DH being off work and spending time with family!

Update: I got to hear the heartbeat yesterday! I went in to be checked for a possible uti (which turned out to probably be nothing), and Liane asked if I wanted to have a listen. It was so nice and reassuring :)

Also, we have decided on a girl name! Eleanor Clare, nick name Nora. I love it and so does DH which is quite honestly shocking to me. He has been 100% stuck on Abigail (which is a great name just not what I wanted to use) for years and years. I'm so excited :)

omg that is one cute baby! Congratulations!

I hope he gets the hang of feeding soon and it cools down for you. I know that can be really tough! ((hugs!))

  • QOTW: my last day of work this year is 12/16 and I am off until 1/3. I will have my 4y/o nephew and can't wait to spoil him and craft. He loves crafts.

Update: Got to hear the heartbeat on Friday. We took PG announcement photos on Saturday and announced on facebook Sunday. I know it is early, but we are going to start getting nursery ready while I'm off - only because there is (still) some tacky wallpaper border up from when we bought the house & royal blue trim & doors that need to be primed. I am scheduled for my a/s on 1/31. My OB said I could do it as early as 1/13 but I delayed it because I have a coworker out for surgery for those 3 weeks. My boss has since told me I can move it up!!! and they will deal with being short staffed. My coworkers are all very excited about our PG because they know about our IF struggles. Still no symptoms besides really really sore boobs and now some discomfort from my ute growing....and sadly, I can no longer sleep on my tummy.

  • Thanks for adding me.

Congrats to Sarebear and Ricola, he's adorable. Glad he's here, safe and sound.

QOTW: I'm off of work starting on the 21st and I can't wait. We don't even have a tree up yet since DH has been out of town. He's supposed to be getting one now on his lunch break. We will be home for the Holidays and I'm so thankful for that.

Updates: Feeling better day by day. I'm having more bursts of energy, but still nauseous at times. I am really hoping that I can hold out until the 2nd tri to start wearing maternity clothes, and I'm almost there but the pants are a tightening.  :-) Still haven't announced to most of our non-nestie friends or anyone at work.

Keeping my fingers crossed for all those on the TTC check-in list that they join us here soon. XOXO

  • Thank you, ladies! I hope to be able to drop the syringe feeding and pumping after his 2 week check next Monday *crosses fingers*

  • QOTW: Staying here this year, thank goodness. MIL will be here 2 days after xmas for a week, so I am hoping we can all do a full clean and purge of the house while she is here and DH is off.

Update: My joints have started to hurt something fierce this week, so I am thinking I will probably have to stop working soon. I am a massage therapist and do mostly deep tissue rehabilitation work, so having joint issues means I can't do anything. I am bummed since I wanted to work through mid-February at least, but now I see myself quitting in the next few weeks.

  • Ricola - congrats! That's one cute baby!

QOTW:  Thankfully this is the last week of work until after new years for me!  I've been waiting for a vacation for so long.  We're traveling all over . .. going to catch a NE Patriots game, going to NYC for a few days then heading to visit DH's family.  Should be fun - and I hope my coats still fit by the end.  The zippers are starting to get a little tight!!  I'm excited to show off my bump to the ILs - they've been hearing everything from afar so they are so anxious to see us!

Updates - Still feeling pretty good - I am starting to feel baby move a little more and I've felt her kick once on the outside this week, which was exciting. Still waiting for DH to feel her though!  Oh, and we settled on a name !!!  She'll be Liliana Marie, and we'll probably call her Lily.

  • QOTW:  I am so jealous hearing about everyone who is starting vacation soon!  I don't get any extra time off since xmas and nyears falls on a weekend :(  And I'm trying to save my pto for maternity leave.  Unfortunately we have lots of traveling to do to.  3 different xmases from lubbock to temple to houston over the next 3 weekends.  I am looking forward to seeing family I don't get to see very often.

Update:  A/s ultrasound next week, can't wait, even though we aren't finding out the sex.  My headaches have been a lot better this week, haven't had one in a couple of days.  And I started working out again doing zumba class and it feels so good!

     Congrats to Ricola and Sarebear!

  • Ricola- congrats - he is precious!

Sarabear - congrats to you to :)

QOTW- somehow I got roped into hosting Christmas TWICE at my house (on the 23rd for my family and on the 25th for DH's.  They're all aware of my pelvic separation issues and have pledged to do all the cooking, etc.  I feel guilty though, so I want to at least make some dessert (box brownies and bakerella's peanut butter fudge).

Update - things are going okay.  I'm freaking out that I'm already at 34 weeks tomorrow.  Yikes.  I've made a lot of progress on the baby's room, we FINALLY decided on a name (first AND middle) and I had a baby shower!  I've still got to finish making a yarn wreath for the baby's room, a hat for her, booties and headbands for her NB shoot.  My pelvic separation issues have good and bad days, but I'm so far able to maintain the pain level or rest enough to refresh everything a bit.  DD is definitely trying my patience as a typical 3-yr old will, so that often determines how good a day we'll have.  Otherwise, baby is still doing well, heartbeat looks good, giving me a great appetite and making me feel as big as a house these days even though I've only gained 25 lbs so far  :)

  • Congrats, Ricola! He is adorable!

QOTW: I teach so our last day is this Friday. It seriously can not get here soon enough. I love my kids, but they are going crazy! For the break we're staying in town. We'll be spending Christmas with my in-laws, who I love, but we will literally be spending ALL day with them. We'll have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at their place. I don't care who you are - that's way too much time to spend with someone that lives down the street!

Updates: We decided to share the news on Facebook using the slightly creepy picture that's in my sig. Right now things will be a little quiet until we have our anatomy scan on January 3rd. I am counting the days until we find out.

    12 dpo: HCG = 184 Progesterone = 34
    14 dpo: HCG = 529 Progesterone = 24.6

  • QOTW:  My plans are:  finishing up mid-terms.  Only 1.5 days left, but a ton of grading...suck.  Then I need to do some present shopping, potty training, mural painting, baby announcement paper shopping, and hopefully meeting up with my long-term sub.  Other than that, I hope to rest a little before I go back on the 2nd.

UPDATE:  I am in double digits now for how many days I have left.  I gained 9 lbs btw check-ups.  I was not happy about that.  Feeling Tiny move like crazy.  I am also having braxton hicks.  I didn't realize exactly what they felt like until we talked about them yesterday at my appt.  I've been having them all along...go figure.

ETA: congrats to both Sarebear and Riccola!!!

  • Congratulations on the babies, ladies!  Please send some of that labor dust my way.  Nights have been getting pretty unbearable lately.

    Question of the week:

December 23rd is my last day of work until Feb. 15th when I plan to go back half time.  I AM SO EXCITED TO START THIS MATERNITY LEAVE!  I plan to do nothing but sit in my comfy rocker and go to prenatal yoga classes until this baby decides to come.

UPDATE:  Like I said, the nights have been getting pretty unbearable lately.  I feel like I have to get up and pee every hour instead of every 2 or 3 now.  My OB checked me last week and still no dilation.   We'll see what tomorrow's 37 week appt brings.

Congrats again on the babies!  So excited for you all!
