We cancled our Netflix account and the Blockbusters around us have closed. We try Redbox here and there and are successful with a movie we want even less. There are lots of movies in theatres that I will want to rent but from where?
we do redbox and have really good luck finding the movies we want. the key is to reserve online (or through the mobile app) in advance so you are guaranteed the movie you want. it's also cheaper ($1 vs. $1.20) to reserve online first rather than doing all your selections on the kiosk.
the mobile app makes it super easy. i'll even stand at the kiosk with my mobile app open first to reserve and then pick it up if we hadn't done any pre-planning.
We use Netflix streaming but that's only good for shows and old movies. If we don't find something on Redbox then we check the On Demand channels on the DVR.

We also rent from Redbox. I just got an Apple TV and you can rent from itunes and steam to your TV -- but they're quite a bit more -- around $3-4 a movie.

Redbox - there are a ton around us & I love that I can look on the mobile app to find the kiosk that has the movie I want.
