F. FB wwyd? (nbr)

....dd...

thanks guys! I think since none of my stuff is public, I should be ok. And then I can be p-a and block her after Cmas. ;)

Re: F. FB wwyd? (nbr)

  • Why don't you just accept it and then make it so she can only see a limited profile. Block her from your wall or something like that.

  • I would ignore it. Since you ignored your dads if it ever comes up you can play dumb and say you don't check FB often or never noticed friend request or whatever.

    this.

  • Follow up: can ignored requestors see my info (wall, pics, etc.)? If I have it all set to Friends only? Because I can see her pics, wall, etc. And wish I hadn't now, but that's what I get for looking. (I'm googling, but I know this has been discussed here before. :) )

It depends on the settings. She must have hers wide open. If you don't accept her as a friend, she shouldn't be able to see yours. However, if you have mutual friends, and their settings are loose, then she would be able to see your comments to them. Make sense?

  • Yes, thanks! No common friends (since I don't know the woman), so hopefully my stuff isn't visible. I think I'll check my privacy settings just to be sure.

Not true :( I forget who told me but once someone asks to be your friend, you can see all kinds of stuff, even if your security settings are on lockdown. Maybe it was OrangeFelt who clued me in?

I can't open this at work but based on the google search, I think this explains it

Really? I don't think so. Because when I friend someone, I can't see their stuff until they accept me.  That's what I'm hoping!

  • Aha. I think we are both right. From that link, I got this:

When someone sends you a friend request, public stories about you (i.e., stories that have the privacy set to "Public") may appear in their News Feed. If you decline a friend request from this person, stories about you will not appear in their News Feed anymore.

News Feed will never show stories that a non-friend wouldn?t ordinarily be able to see. For example, if you posted a video and set the privacy to "Friends," a person who is waiting for you to approve their friend request would not see that in their News Feed. If you had set the video to be Public, that person would see it.

You can always change your privacy settings by selecting "Privacy Settings" under the Settings drop-down menu and clicking the appropriate section.

    And also this:
People who you contact on Facebook in these ways will have temporary access to view a small portion of your profile (timeline). They will see Basic Info, Personal Info, Work Info, Education Info and Friends. Keep in mind that your friends will always be able to view your profile (timeline) and your content, unless you have adjusted your privacy settings otherwise.

    Hope that helps!
