NPR: Has anybody done laser hair removal?

How did it go? Did the hairs grow back? That has been always a very expensive for me, but now I see a good deal on groupon. I have like 10-15 hairs that keep growing on my chin. Would like to kill them!

  • My mom did it and loved it! The only problem is that it usually takes 5 or 6 visits for the hair to be gone for good.

  • Yes, one of the best things I've spent my hard earned money on! As long as you have enough treatments to zap the hairs through each growth cycle they won't grow back.

  • Yes but some hairs grew back during and post- pregnancy, which they warned me. I completed my rounds right before I got pregnant.
  • Thanks girls. I am not sure I can afford 5-6 treatments though, considering both me and DH work  half time. I could afford I guess, if groupon offers this deal on regular base:)

A lot of places base their prices on 6 sessions since that's the minimum it takes to permanently get rid of the hair, so hopefully the groupon is for several sessions and not just one.

This is good to know! Thanks, stever!

  • On the areas, it did work but I missed the last session so there are a few stragglers that I need to go take care of.  Like pp said, it can be minimum 5-6 sessions to account for all hair growth cycles.

  • I went for probably 18 total sessions.  I paid for 6 sessions with a 2 year guarantee.  I went for the 2 years after the 1st 6 sessions and I have to say I am not happy with my results.  I could have complained and got more sessions but I decided it wasn't worth my time.  It does not work for everyone.  I have talked to others and it didn't work for them either.  Good luck.

  • I used the Braun eplilator on my legs and it has made my legs smoother forever.

I barely  have any hair on my legs now and when I do, it is barely there, very fine and sparse.

I also use it on my underarms and have a lot less hair there now

Best money I ever spent!  I think it was about $50 on amazon

I haven't used it on my face, but the chin is not an overly sensitive area that I think you could try it and see how it goes.
