Crib Sleeping

Hi Ladies...

I posted a few days ago regarding my fourth degree tear during childbirth, and I just wanted to say thank you for all your kind words and advice! I know I'm not a regular to the board, so thank you for still helping out!!

I'm back again because you were so great, and I need more help, haha. My son will be 7 months on the 19th. He began sleeping through the night at about 3 months and was doing WONDERFUL in his crib all night. Then he started rolling over. That became a whole issue because he would continually wake up whenever he got onto his stomach. We STARTED to get over that, and over Thanksgiving, he got croup. We were instructed not to lay him flat on his back until he was back to 100%, so we had been putting him in his swing at night and for naps so he was propped up. BIG problem now. He REFUSES to sleep ANYWHERE but the dang swing! How in the world do we get him back in the crib?? I have been told to let him cry it out but he seriously just sobs until he chokes himself, it terrifies me, not to mention drives me half way to the insane asylum listening to the screaming. ANY advice or tips would be GREAT! I'm desperate!!! Thank you in advance!!!

Re: Crib Sleeping

  • We had the same issue with DS because he slept in a RnP for the first 4 months of his life.

This is what I did after many desperate, long nights.
I swaddled him and put him in his boppy, in his crib.
If you would rather, it may be safer to put a pillow under the matress, I've heard many ladies on here suggesting this.

I think swaddling is key; swings and RnP's are very small, close spaces...it's very hard for some LOs to get used to laying in such a big, open space.

    HTH & GL!!
