Does TriCare cover?

I have seen some other mommies talking about their insurances covering a breast pump. Does TriCare cover the cost of a breast pump for us?

  • They do but only for medical reasons like a preemie. It has to be a hospital grade which you rent and they pay for. I am getting one covered now since triplets and born early they also spent time in sspecial care nursery meaning not home right after birth so breast feeding not working and have to add things to milk.

Yep. If they are separated from you in the NICU for a while, Tricare will cover the cost.  Otherwise, no.

  • Some MTFs (so I've heard) will rent out pumps to moms for free. You just have to go back every month and re-rent it. *I think that is what has been said on here a couple of times.

  • You can get a pump through WIC and I was told today that every base has an office.
