They're starting to freak me out! The past week I have been really dizzy whenever I stand up but it was nothing that I couldn't power through. Yesterday morning I jumped out of bed so excited to not feel naseaus for the first time in months and by the time I made it to the bathroom (10 feet away) I had tunnel vision that went completely black and I started to shake. I found the wall and slid down it so that if I fainted I wouldn't hurt myself. I was incredinly weak for a few minutes but my vision came back and I picked myself up. I thought it was my blood sugar so I went to the kitched and got a popcycle and went back to bed. After about 10 minutes I got up again still woozy but a bit better. I was weak the rest of the day but ok for the most part.
Today I went christmas shopping. I was at the mall maybe an hour and started to feel the same way again. I managed to make it to my car before the black out hit. I felt incredibly naseaus and exhausted. When I started to feel better I stopped by a taco bell and got some food (once again thinking blood sugar) and went home. I ate and as soon as I stood up from the table I felt the weakness again.
Has anyone felt this before? I checked around on Dr. Google and found where it may be low blood pressure. Hopefully the midwife will call soon and I can find some kind of solution. Thanks for reading.
(I also wanted to add that re-reading this I know it looks like I have horrible eating habbits but I really don't. The popcycle seemed smart for the instant sugar and the taco bell was the closest thing to my house. I normally have a very balanced diet
)
Re: Black outs anyone? (kind of long)
I passed out on the subway two weeks ago. Heres what the doc told me.
Eat small meals often, even if just snacks in between
Stay hydrated
Try to keep a juice box in my purse when commuting
If you feel faint/lightheaded while standing sit immediately even if its on the floor
If you can and have the room put your head between your knees
Take it easy while going from sitting to standing especially when getting out of bed in the morning.I'd call the dr and talk to a nurse.
I passed out (like on the floor, people wanting to call 911) at the post office last week. I called the dr's office. The nurse I talked to said that it most likely had to do with blood volume. She said to stay very hydrated and take it easy the rest of the day. She also said if I got a headache that wouldn't go away with tylenol or if it happened again to call and they'd see me before my next appointment.
Thanks for the responses ladies. This is exactly what my midwife told me. I was hoping there would be some magic cure all but I guess I'll just suck it up and chalk it up to another joy of pregnancy.
I have been dizzy lately. I usually sit down before it gets to the point of blacking out, but that used to happen all the time when I was little.
Is it better when you eat? If it is your sugar level you might want to get checked for Gestiational diabetes sooner than the normal. My dad gets that way when his levels are all out of whack. He is diabetic.
I'm not convinced eating helps. Honestly laying down makes me feel the best.
This. Most of the time when I get dizzy and faint feeling, it's because I haven't drank enough water. Try to get half your body weight in ounces of water daily. If none of this helps, have your dr test you for pre-eclampsia (sp?).
Then came a miscarriage March '11
Then came a baby in the baby carriage May 16, 12
Waiting on our second little peanut!
I had a couple of near black out moments right around 14-18 weeks. My doctor told me exactly the same things to do.
