IVF Question

We are blessed to have a "miracle" son.  We are having secondary infertility, and it seems our only option of becoming pregnant is IVF (son was IUI baby).  Due to my infertility issues, the doctor recommends PGD (genetic testing of the embryo).  Has anyone had this testing done?  I am interested to hear others' experiences.

    I haven't personally, but my cousin did.  She had a couple of miscarriages and a lot of failed IVFs.  So, they opted to do a fresh IVF and then do PGD on her embryos to look for the genetically normal ones.  Because the testing had to take place on the 5th day after the ER, they needed to be frozen immediately and she had to wait to do a FET.  The results didn't come back for a couple of days after that, so they couldn't have kept them outside the body for that long.

    They had 2 genetically normal embryos and they transferred both of them.  She is about 15w pregnant with a singleton.

    That is wonderful!  My doctor said they would do the testing on day 3.
