At the beginning of this year, I made a New Years resolution to read a ton of books. As you can imagine, having a horrible first trimester certainly de-railed this goal, but I'm working on squeezing in as many books as possible in the next couple of weeks. My goal is to finish all of the books that have come out this year in the series that I read. For the past year or two I've been really into the Sci-fi/paranormal/romance/horror genre. So here are the books that I've read so far this month (bolded) and the ones that I plan to read, and the series they're from:
Archangel's Blade by Nalini Singh (Guild Hunter)
New York to Dallas by JD Robb (In Death Series)
Spellbound by Kelley Armstrong (Women of the Otherworld)
Hit List by Laurell K Hamilton (Anita Blake Series)
One Grave at a Time by Jeaniene Frost (Night Huntress Series)
Another Kind of Dead by Kelly Meding (Dreg City Books)
Hunt the Moon by Karen Chance (Cassandra Palmer Series)
Shadowfever by Karen Marie Moning (the last book in the MaKayla Lane Series)
The Neon Graveyard by Vicki Pettersson (Sign of the Zodiac Series)
The Deadliest Bite by Jennifer Rardin (Jaz Parks Series)
Death Magic by Eileen Wilks (World of the Lupi)
Drink Deep by Chloe Neill (Chicagoland Vampire Series)
Red Mist by Patricia Cornwell (Kay Scarpetta Series)
Kill Alex Cross by James Patterson (Alex Cross Series)
At this point in the pregnancy I'm also not able to do much so I spend the majority of my days on the couch. Does anyone read these authors/series? Or does anyone else have a list of books they want to try and read before the end of the year?
Re: NBR - End of the Year Reading Goal (anyone?)
What a list! I love to read, but I got off track with all of my goals after my 1st trimester. That was a dark and lowly time in life-smh. Anyhow, I haven't read any of those on your list. I do like Nora Roberts, but I've never read her stuff under JD Robb. I'm a fan of James Patterson, but only for listening. Don't ask why, but for some reason I just like his audio books, but I won't actually read them. At this point, I've turned into a lazy slob. I could probably get in quite a bit of reading by the end of the year. Anyone in an online book club? I was in a really good one when I lived in NC, I recently moved and hadn't been able to find one in my new area so I thought I may try online...
I haven't heard of many of the authors - besides James Patterson. I might have to look into some of them though cuz I like that same genre.
My reading goal is to read about half of the books currently on my Kindle - right now I have 70 books. Some are short stories and some are regular length, but I definately have too many unread ones.
Ugh. I get so frustrated when I think about my reading goal for 2011. Last year, I set a goal of 30 books and blew past it with over 50, so I decided to up the ante this year and make my goal 75. Well, three months of being so sick I could barely keep my eyes open and I'm WAY behind. Goodreads says I've read 31 books in 2011 so far. Pretty pitiful.
I'd like to try to get to 50 by the end of the year but I don't see that happening. I'm currently reading Game of Thrones and I'm only halfway through. It's taking me a lot longer to read than normal so this will probably be the last book for me for 2011.
