Midwife recommendations for Overlake please? :)

Hi everyone,

I'm 28 weeks pregnant right now and will be moving to Bellevue next week and may have to consider looking for a new midwife that delivers at Overlake.

We were originally planning to give birth at Group Health in Capitol Hill's Family Beginnings Birth Center but after doing the tour there last weekend, my husband seems to like Overlake's birthing suites and offerings better, not to mention that it'll be just minutes from our apartment.

I will be trying to do a VBAC and would really like to make sure I have a natural, unmedicated birth this time so I would really prefer a midwife over an OB-GYN. Has anyone here delivered at Overlake with a midwife already? I would really appreciate it if you could share your experiences and suggest midwives we could call for a consult.

Hi everyone,

Did a little more research and beginning to realize that most people who have gone to Overlake used OB-GYNs instead of midwives so I'm getting a little disheartened about that.

Might just stick with Group Health's Family Beginnings Center then! Which I'm secretly happy about since that means I get to stick with my wonderful midwives at Midwife Seattle.

Hope you guys can give me some feedback and share your experiences there! Thanks so much!

I delivered (2x) at overlake with an OB. Sorry I have nothing to recommend for you.

No worries, stacylu! Starting to realize how most women who've given birth at Overlake used OBs instead of midwives so we might just stick with GH then! Thanks though!
