Almost 20 weeks and still vomiting/nauseated...anyone else?

So this morning I was getting ready and brushing my teeth and then it happened, BAM! I started vomiting. I'm still vomiting probably every 2 days or so and its just so frustrating. Am I the only one out there still suffering? I just want to feel like myself again, and well being sick and vomiting on command really isn't doing it for me! Meh.Sad

Re: Almost 20 weeks and still vomiting/nauseated...anyone else?

  • I am not vomiting anymore and feel pretty good in that area of pregnancy symptoms but will say that brushing my teeth still always makes me gag so I can see where that would trigger vomiting. I have tried brushing a little and then taking long slow deliberate breaths during the process to help with that reflex. Just trying to distract myself I guess! Hope you feel better soon!!!!!

  • I am not quite as far along as you, but I am still having the same problem from time to time when I brush my teeth (including this morning). It sucks! I find it is especially prominent when brushing the backs of my upper molars... I hate to think what it will be like when I go to the dentist next time! Hang in there!
  • I am right there with you!!  Hoping we both get to feeling better soon
  • Yep.  I got sick 4 times last week.  This week I have only got sick once so I'm crossing my fingers it is slowing down.

  • I was good until this past weekend and it was while I was brushing my teeth, too. I vomited a little bit, and I think it had to do with how hard I brush my teeth. Any little extra motion seems to set me off. I have switched to a soft bristle versus my electrical toothbrush, and it seems to help!!

  • Interesting, I never got sick till now. Weird

  • Me too. I still have M/S and it still comes on if I don't eat soon enough. This kid likes their food!

  • It's so awful isn't it? Well, I should also mention that my vomiting is pretty much brought on by basically anything. This is the first time in my life I can vomit on command. I've discovered that chocolate of all things is a trigger food, so is spicy, chinese food, pizza,....basically anything I loved pre-pregnancy makes me gag now. It's so sad. Only 20 weeks to go though! Hang in there fellow bumpies!

  • I am no longer vomiting or getting nausea (unless I don't eat enough) but I do know for me two tums with calcium helps. If I forget to take the tums every morning I get sick. I don't know what has worked for anyone else but I know it did me.

  • I'm still getting sick. 3 times this week so far and it's only Tuesday. I have found that if I use a smaller toothbrush I can stand brushing my teeth. I have one of those fold up travel brushes that has a smaller head on it. Other things seem to make me puke like my husband burping!!!!!

  • 18 weeks and still vomiting although it is only about once a day now versus all day long...hey, I'll take what I can get since with DS I vomited violently through the whole pregnancy.  Once a day seems like a bonus!  I've found that eating teeny weeny bites of food and eating slooooooooooooowly helps a lot too.  If I even think of eating a normal portion size I swear I get sick!

    Hang in there ladies!

  • I vomited last week, but not really nauseous otherwise. Hope it goes away soon!

This. We have a no farting/burping rule in our house, but only for my husband. Hahahaha. He has to go to the bathroom and do it, b/c if I hear or smell it, it's bad news bears! Also, I was on vacay and had one of those fold up ones and it was amazing, then I lost it. I can't ever remember to get one at the store b/c that's a whole different story.

  • I'm not throwing up, but I never really did. I get very nauseated when I'm hungry though. That hasn't stopped.

  • Close.  I'm 17 weeks and I still have to take my Zofran every day or I throw up.  Have you tried Zofran or the B6/Unisom tablet combo?  I highly recommend both!!
  • 19 weeks and 4 days and puked at the gym while working out AND a few times in the shower.  Gross.

  • I'm 18 weeks. My nausea is definitely better than it was, but I still have trouble if I don't take my Zofran (or even if I wait too long to take it). Still vomiting occasionally, but nothing like it was a few weeks ago (for which I am SUPER thankful!).
