But Lily is so dang popular!!! I'm pretty sure I want to stick with L, but I have no idea what... if it's a boy, I know it'll be Lyle - and since everyone is convinced I'm having a boy, I need to make sure to have a girls name ready because I know babies love to prove all the old wives tales wrong! Any suggestions?

I personally love Lily. Would the full name be Lillian? Lilith or Liliana could be an acceptable full name for Lily too.
Some other L names: Lindsey, Layla, Lacey, Laken, Lana, Larissa, Lauren, Laurel, Laura, Leah, Leanne, Lisa, Liz, Loganne, Lucy
We are going with Lillian which jumped to #41 on the list, so we were glad about that. I like Lauren, Laurel, Lucy, Lilliana for other L names.
Also love Lila and Layla. But I agree if you love Lily, I say use it.
Eta added names
I love Lily. My niece's name is Lillian Marie and goes by Lily. It's such a beautiful name.
You could do Lila?

I personally don't think Lily is the new Jennifer. Have you checked out the name data in your area in particular? I know one Lily that was born in October but no others. Whenever we mention our name people always say they have an aunt or grandma named Lillian.

I agree with this. The only girl name DH and I agree on is Olivia and we LOVE it. It is at the top of the most popular list, but we don't know anyone named this, so we are sticking with it....if we have a girl.
