I saw a thread earlier where someone posted photos of her child wrapped in Christmas lights. Another poster said her child attempted to put one in his/her mouth. Christmas lights are COVERED IN LEAD. Do NOT let your children put them in their mouths. And if they touch them, make sure you wash their hands immediately.

Not all are covered in Lead. Fifty-four percent of holiday lights tested in a U.S. study had more lead than regulators permit in children?s products according to a 2010 report. Here in California, they're required to put warning labels on things that have higher levels of lead and the strands that I took the pictures with had no warning labels. (Also, it's not like my child is chewing on the strand for an extended period of time. It may have gone in his mouth for a second but then I pulled it out and gave him a bath after we were done.)

yeah, I think every other post last year was about the dangers of christmas tree lights.

And yet, I didn't hear even one story about a toddler succumbing to tree light poisoning death!

Don't let your kid suck on the lights for an hour, but come on....there are probably bigger things to worry about.

yeah, forget head injuries from climbiing on high things, or car accidents, or even swimming accidents....look out everyone! Its a christmas tree light! Aaaaaaaahhh!!!!
