We shared very early with R, we waited so long and had to spill the beans! I was hoping to wait until I had an u/s and see the hb this time, but since I didn't go to the RE first I won't get an u/s until closer to 9 weeks. I am going to try and get one between Christmas and New Years but may not be able to since I will only be 7 weeks. They told me to ask at my ob nurse talk next week.
I am dying to tell my parents but want to wait too, KWIM?
Did you tell parents/family right away or did you wait until you at least saw the HB?
Re: When did you share your BFP news?
With Charlotte I was about 11 weeks when we told our parents, I was waiting on hearing back about a job before I told my parents (to kind of soften the blow). We ended up telling family that same weekend because it was Easter and everyone was there, but I had really wanted to wait. With this LO, I told my parents at 8 or 9 weeks but waited until we heard a HB to tell any extended family. I just never really wanted to have to deal with "untelling" someone. I told a couple friends tho, since I had to tell someone and I was bursting at the seams!
With DD I want to say I was around 11wks before telling our parents and SIL. I waited the 13wks to tell anyone else.
This time I told my Mom and ILs a little earlier (maybe 9ish wks)-and it was because I needed my Mom to babysit for a docs appt. Everyone else I waited the 13wks again---well except for work because someone there figured it out and so I had to tell everyone else (there are only 7 of us in the office).
With C we told family at around 10 weeks, the world after the first tri. I told friends between that time. (My bff knew right away.)
With E we told VERY early - about 6 weeks. We went on a cruise with my parents and sister's family and they were offering me drinks at every turn and then wondered why I wasn't using the drink tickets I pre-purchased. Close friends I told pretty late - around 14 weeks and everyone else after. I had just taken a new job and felt terrible I was going to out on maternity leave so close to my first (same place of employment, different job).
We told close family the day we found out, which was like 4 weeks and then posted on fb & told friends like 2 days later.
I was nervous but DH didn't want to wait. He is a very positive person and explained to me that the more positive thoughts/prayers the baby had coming it's way the better.
with Ethan I told my parents and sister and bf the minute I found out. My parents were so exicted that they told their parents and siblings. I wanted to wait in case of a m/c but oh well. I didn't do anything special just a phone call. I started telling friends as I talked to them. I told my boss at 9 weeks and the rest of the store around 12 weeks.
With Sophia I told everyone immediatley except work. I waited until 12 weeks. i could have waited and done somehting cute to tell my family but I just can't keep a secret.
We found out on a Thursday night, we told my parents that Sunday. DH called his parents that night after we told mine. We told my brothers and their families a couple weeks later because my one brother happened to be visiting from KY. Rest of DH's family found out at Thanksgiving. Poor guy had to tell them by himself because I ended up staying home with a bad case of food poisoning. Not a fun weekend had by all.
I told a couple of my very close friends the day after I tested because they knew I was testing, and were anxious to find out. Others I let know on an as-needed basis. I was in the process of switching jobs, and I didn't want my boss at my new district to find out from someone other than me. My boss at the time knew immediately, but only a handful of others at work knew before I left.

We told family at 13.5 weeks with my first - but we don't get along with DH's parents very well. I didn't tell co-workers til 18 weeks! Not sure how I pulled that off!
With my 2nd I had a m/c so I was a little scared off and didn't tell anyone until 20 weeks, but again, we have family issues. We barely spoke to DH's dad and his mom was out of the family. My parents are passed - but I think I would have told my mom right away - but it's not like she would have told anyone.

Great post and nice to see that people are all over the place.
#1 We told right away at Christmas and miscarried a few days later.
#2 Greyson- we told my parents after Betas and my brothers a few weeks after that. I can't remember if it was before or after the ultrasound.
#3 I am struggling with this. I would like to tell my parents right away and I think we will this week. But work is a little tricky. We are going for happy hour tomorrow night and I work with drinkers. We will also be doing an in office HH on the 28th. Just not sure how to handle 2 different work related drinking events. I feel like I can lie once but twice I think they would all catch on pretty quickly. I do work with 5 women!!
I found out I was pregnant one week before DH was in a wedding this summer. "Fake Drinking" was incredibly hard it was three nights in a row of partying and I was stone sober. Not my idea of a good time. If I wasn't such a chicken it would have been easier to tell everyone.
Everyone close to us (our whole family and close friends) knew right away. We shared our IF journey with them and they were amazing support, so they basically knew when we'd know! We waited to share with the rest of the world til we saw the HB(s) around 7wks or so.
1st pregnancy- told pretty much everyone right away. mc at 11 weeks
2nd pregnancy- told only my BFF (I found out a few days before her bday, and we had plans to go out that weekend... I knew she would suspect if I wasn't doing birthday shots!) told no one else and mc at 6 weeks
3rd pregnancy (Evan)- waited until we saw the hb on the ultrasound at about 7 weeks. at first just told immediate family, but the news spread quickly.
m/c 1/2/08 and 3/12/08

Natalie Ruth - Born 6/13/11 7lb 6.6oz
I was telling people before the pee was dry on the stick..lol (I just knew I was pregnant)..
for L we did a special gift for the grandparents to tell them- it was still on the early side- like 5-6w
for x- I called the night I got the +
I feel the same way about support- if something happened- I would want people to know..
