My grandparents sent each of the kids a $150 Visa gift card for Christmas, with instructions to buy them something fun. I'm kind of stumped about what to use the money for. Santa's bringing them a train table and train set. MIL and FIL bought them an art easel. We've already bought a bunch of toys for charity (thanks, MODG!) They've got a play kitchen. I did want to buy them nice doll strollers (they play dolls together a lot) ... but that's my only idea so far. They said they didn't want to buy me (half of) a Marc Jacobs bag (jerks.) I need help brainstorming.
So....you've got $150/kid or $300 total to spend on two toddlers. WWYB?
Re: wwyb? (what would you buy?)
That's a generous gift. I don't have toddlers so these might be dumb ideas.
- tricycles
- save it for a big, outdoors something for spring (I'm thinking like a playhouse)
- trip to Sea World or similar place
- electric car for the backyard (I don't know what they're called or if they still make them. I had a jeep when I was little.)
I'd put it towards a playscape for the backyard.
:-)
I was also going to suggest saving it til Spring and buying something cool for outside.
(the electric cars are called Power Wheels, and Cam LOVES hers)
Do they already have a little table and chairs?
The O'Baby Blog
Can you save it or will they want to know what they "bought" them for Xmas?
What about big gross motor toys like a cozy coupe, tricycles, etc. Every kid I know goes nuts over this roller coaster https://www.amazon.com/Step-Up-Down-Roller-Coaster/dp/B00005KBVD
Do they have Anywhere Chairs already? What about things y'all can do indoors in the winter like gymnastics, swim, music, art?
Learning Tower?
A sh!tload of books?
I think they DO want to buy you a Marc Jacobs bag......
Do you have a separate playroom? Maybe get their own tv in there to watch cartoons and movies and eventually whatever game station they would want. It a doll house? LeapPads because ALL the cool kids are getting them.
