How much sleep are YOU getting these days??

For the most part I am averaging 8 hours or so a night, some nights straight thru, some nights are broken. I notice though when my LO sleeps well for many nights and then has one crappy one I find myself not having the patience like I used to.

Anyone else??? Last night LO was up at 3 and didnt go back to bed until 430 to which that only lasted until 520 and here we are still up at 630- she is in bouncer and I am on here having a cup of coffee!

Re: How much sleep are YOU getting these days??

  • DD goes to bed around 8, DH and I between 9-9:30 because we're so exhausted. DD wakes up to drink around 11, 2, 5, and then between 6-7:30 she's up for the day and I'm up with her. So technically I have about a 9-10 hour sleep timeframe, but I'm certainly not asleep for all of it! Probably closer to 7 hours.

  • Very little, between 5-6 hours not straight through. DD2 goes to bed at 6 or 6:30, up at midnight to eat, then up again at 3:30 or 4am. At this point, she doesn't go back to sleep until her 1st nap. DD1 gets up at 5 or 5:30. And yes, I work full-time.

  • DS goes down around 7pm. I try to be asleep by 9pm.

He's back up at 12am and 3am (on a good night). Then he's up around 6:30am for the day.

  • I'm getting great sleep as long as a) I get my butt in bed at a reasonable hour and b) my DS or DD aren't up for some reason.  I would say there are at least 1-2 nights where one kid needs something, but other than that, I'm probably averaging about 6-7 hours straight through.

  • a lot more than i used too! we are down to one wake up, except with these dang teeth who knows what we are doing.. last night she only woke up once at 330 but she wasnt feel well and we took turns rocking/cuddling her until 530.  then we slept til 715, she ate and we slept again until 845.  but i usually go to bed anywhere between 10-1130 and get up with her anywhere between 7-8 for the day.  i have a huge problem falling asleep at night unless i wait til after 10.  otherwise it makes it worse and i stay up way later, freaking out that i am still awake.

  • We put DD down between 8-930, depending on her sleeping cues.  We wash up at 10 and are in bed by 1030.  DD is STTN so I stay in bed as long as I can before we get ready for work/DC.  As long as I am up at 645, I can prep her bottle and solids, as well as her "lunchbox", get her up at 7am.

So, I'm about 8 hours and DD is about 10 hours.

  • anywhere from 6-7.5 hours.  she's a night owl and an early bird so i'm hurtin' over here.  especially since i'm the person who needs like 9 hours of sleep to feel "normal."

last night the santa ana winds kicked our butts and had winds reaching 97 mph!  i thought our roof was going to come off...either that or our 9 huge seqioua pines were going to come crashing down on us.  there's debris everywhere.  so, i got about 3.5 hours of total sleep.  i'm a mess.

  • I usually get about 6 or 7 broken hours. It's my own fault; if I went to bed earlier I could get 2-3 more hours. I just can't give up that time being with DH/reading/watching non-kid friendly TV.
  • DD is in bed around 8:30pm, and is up for the day between 6:30 - 7:30. She will typically have one wakeup, sometimes two. I'm usually asleep by 10:00pm these days.

  • I'm getting about 8-9 hours each night.  DS sleeps from 6:30ish to 6ish.  I am asleep by 9 every night (usually earlier, lol) and up between 5-6.

  • I get about 8 hrs of sleep. DS sleeps 7:30-7:30 straight through. I sleep 11-7:30.

  • Depends on if I am getting up for work or not. On the nights before I get up for work I get about 5 or 6 hours broken up The days I don't have to work, I get between 7 and 8. My baby sleeps from 8:30pm to 8:30 am, waking up 2-3 times. I get up for work at 5:00am so it makes a huge difference on whether or not I have to get up for work.

  • Usually between 7-8 hours. I go to bed between 10-11 and get up between 5-6.

LO goes to bed at 7pm and gets up in the morning around 6. She usually wakes to nurse once during the night although we randomly have nights where she will wake 2x or not at all.

  • Xander goes to bed at 9:30 and I go to bed about 11:30 usually. He wakes up at 4, I take him back to bed with me in the spare room. I get some crappy sleep with my glasses on and a little light coming from the closet so that I can see him. He is latched the whole time and will usually eat 2-3 time.  We usually wake up around 7 (when he won't stop fussing even with my boob in his mouth- or I would sleep longer).
  • DD goes to sleep around 6:30-6:45. She sleeps through the night until about 6:00ish (if she has a poop diaper, she tends to get up at 6. If her diaper is just wet it is closer to 6:30-6:45)

Since I work, I get up at 5:30. I use the 5:30-6:30 to get ready for myself. In our house if she gets up during that time, she is my husband's responsibility. That hour is completely mine. (she rarely gets up). At 6:30, I change her and feed her and many days by 7:15-7:30 we are out the door.

So ideally I can easily get 9-10 hours of sleep if I go to sleep earlier, but most of the time it is probably 7-8.

  • DS goes to bed around 8 and I usually go to sleep at 9:30. He gets up anywhere between 5:30 and 6:30. He either sleeps through the night or just wakes up once. I really can't complain about his sleeping.
