How big are you? (when will I get my "bump")?

This is my first post, but I have been readying a lot posts and learning lots from you guys. I haven't seen this post before, so I am sorry if this is a repeat.

The doctor didn't give me a "definate" due date, he said May 30- June 3, so I am on the May board since I've heard that these days most people are early rather than on time or late. (I think it would be May 30 because that is 40 weeks exactly).

I believe I am 15 weeks 5 days today. Before I got pregnant I was about 145-150 (maybe...I never looked at the scale much before) and I am 5'9". Now I have been varying between 154-157 over the last 2 weeks. It seems like I haven't gain anything in atleast the last week- 2 weeks and sometimes lose a little. I haven't been eating any less. I don't know when to expect my bump to come in. I have my sonogram scheduled on 1/9/12 to find out the sex of the baby and I always thought you "looked" pregnant for that appointment. Right now I just look bloated with larger love handles. Since I am past the first trimester now, I don't really "feel" pregnant anymore, so I start to get worried easily.

 Thanks Guys

  • I was really bloated at 12 weeks but didn't really get a bump until 14 ish weeks. I am really short though.

  • Everyone is different, it really depends on your body type. Some people show super early and some show super late. Mine bump came at around 15 weeks but I have a pretty short torso. Don't worry it will come before you know it! I feel like mine appeared overnight!

  • I hear ya. I felt like I just looked bloated at first, but by 16 weeks my bump really popped and now I definitely look pregnant (19wks). It will come out of the blue and you'll be like "woah, there it is!".

Congrats and glad you have joined us on the May board (I may be a little bias, but I think May Moms board is the best one!)

  • Don't worry, it's still early! Over the next month or so you'll change a lot. At 15 weeks I just looked fat. At 17 weeks I'm starting to look more pregnant than fat. Things have grown a LOT in the past few weeks. So I think everyone just pops at different times! The longer your torso, the later you pop. My torso is small, so I popped a bit earlier, but I just met a woman a week or so ago pregnant with her second and very healthy at about 20 weeks that still was passing at the party as not pregnant! I'm sure everything is fine, enjoy it! :D

  • I'm 5'9" and 18 weeks. I am still wearing my regular jeans with a belt. Granted, the only jeans I can get into are "low rise" my regular jeans fall right on my bump and they're not comfortable!
  • I'm right there with you...5'9" without a bump!  I will be 17 weeks tomorrow, and waiting to 'pop'!  I still have yet to move onto maternity clothes, but will admit I am more comfy with my jeans unbuttoned.  I blame my bump-less belly on my long torso!

  • I'd just like to add that May 30th is an excellent birthday! That's my bday and it's awesome because I often get a 3 day birthday weekend for Memorial Day! :)

Also, I'm 19 weeks today and just now starting to really show and have other people notice. Your A/S is still about a month away (I'm sure it seems like foreverrrr, but just remember A LOT can change in that small amount of time! Hang in there! :)

  • I know someone slightly taller than you that has the same size bump as I do and she's 10 weeks ahead. I think it really just matters on your body type. It'll start showing soon enough!

  • Still nothing for me, but yes everyone is different and will show at different times.

My little pumpkin was born at 34weeks, weighing 3lbs, due to severe IUGR & Unexplained Placental Insufficiency. He spent 49 days in the NICU. Lilypie Premature Baby tickers imageimageimageimageimageimage
  • I'm right there with you - 5'9" though I weighed more than you pre-pregnancy. I'm 18 weeks and don't have a bump yet either. I look like I've got a bit of a "beer gut" but definitely don't really pass as pregnant looking yet and have only gained about 3.5 pounds. My a/s is next week Wednesday and I felt weird at first too that I'll find out the gender of the baby not even looking pregnant, but what everyone is saying is right... height, pre-preg. weight and torso length all play into it. Honestly, I'm counting my blessings and hoping it's a sign that I won't end up super huge. It's hard enough being so tall and feeling huge anyway. Wink
