Babies: 0 - 3 Months

anyone else LO tease them with STTN only a few nights?

DD is a little over 2 months. Normally she wakes at 3am to eat then up for the day about 7:30 am. About a week ago she STTN skipped her 3am feeding) for 3 nights in a row, it was WONDERFUL!  BUT, this last weekend she has woken up about every 2-3 hours. She went from better to worse. Do you know what could be causing this? She had her 2 mo. vaccines last Thursday but did great w/ them so i don't think that's it. is there a 2 mo wakeful period or growth spurt?

TIA!

(side note: DD sleeps in a bassinet, swaddled, with a fan for white noise next to her bassinet)

  • DS did the same thing after his 2 months shots.  He did great with them too, just slept quite a bit.  He didn't completely STTN until 11 months old, lol.

  • DD does this too.  Her "normal" night is one feeding at 3 am, then up between 7 and 8 am.  But "normal" is only probably twice a week.  The other nights she could sleep all night (10 - 7) or be up every 1.5 to 2 hours.  There is no consistency at this point for us either.  I'm thinking it is just a combination of the 2 month shots, a growth spurt and her new reflux medicine.  Hopefully she'll start sleeping longer stretches consistently soon!

  • My pediatrican said that they will improve and then seem as if they are regressing right before they do even better. So hopefully this is true and she is just preparing to sttn!

  • Right there with you. DS was doing 6-7 hours and then went back to 3 hours max and every hour by the end of the night since Thursday night. Hope this is a short phase.
