gift idea FROM great-grandpa needed

My grandpa (my sons' great-grandpa) pitched in for an outdoor playscape for the boys but also suggested maybe getting each boy a stuffed animal or something. Both kids have a lot of stuffed animals already and Tru is getting pretty attached to a Shamu plush we got him from our first trip to Sea World this past summer. I don't want to dismiss the idea completely though because he is their last remaining great-grandparent and it might be nice to have something like that to remember him by. I mean, they'll outgrow stuffed animals but what else could he give along those lines?

  • What about one of these for boys to share? But how much are those recordable storybooks from Hallmark? Also, my boys like to push buttons and I'd hate for them to erase the recording...

  • Can't you record voices with Build a Bears? If so, I think that would be a great gift.
  • M's great-great uncle bought her the book "The Very Hungry Catapillar" and also got her this matching pull toy.: https://www.amazon.com/World-Hungry-Caterpillar-Kids-Preferred/dp/B003BQ9JTI

    We/She love it!

  • We have 5 of the Rercordable Books (about to be 6). Each Grandparent has recorded one and the kids 2 great grandparents have recorded one for them. Eventually we'd like them to have a book from each grandparent but at $30 each we have to pace them.

    We have:

Guess How much I love You

On the Night You Were Born

    Hey Diddle Diddle

    Love You Forever

All the Ways I love you

    and

    Under the Same Moon

After you record you switch the button to make sure it doesn't get recorded over and then you screw the top on so unless they have a screw driver and unscrew it they won't be able to erase it.

This is great to know! Thanks, J! :) I did suggest the recordable book to him so we'll see if he goes that route. I do love the idea of still being able to hear his voice long after he's gone though, even for MY sake, so I do hope he does it.
