I am having a hard time deciding between 2 names for our DD which will arrive in February. We already have a DS whose name is Jaren Patrick. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to use Kathryn as a middle name, after my grandmother. One of our top names is Harper Kathryn.
However, I also really like the name Adelyn. My DH's great-grandmother's name was Addie and we like the idea of using this as a nickname. However, our last name ends with an "N" so my fear is that Adelyn Kathryn won't sound right together. We tossed around the idea of changing the middle name to June, after my MIL. I like the way Adelyn June sounds and we would have the same initials, like my husband & son do.
I am not sure which to go with, as I do love the middle name Kathryn and have already mentioned it to my grandmother. Advice please....which name do you like best? And, do you think Adelyn Kathryn is too much with our last name?
Re: Down to the top 2 names...help please!
Adelyn = Love
Kathryn = Love
Harper = trend I'm not on board with
June = Love
To me, Kathryn doesn't fit as a mn for your first names.
Katheryn Harper sounds better to me than Harper Kathryn.
And I like Adelyn June better than Adelyn Katherine.
I'd pick one of the Adelyn options if it were me.Also a July 2013 Mom!

Yes, I think Adelyn Kathryn is too much.
I would choose Adelyn June over Harper Kathryn.
Happy Picking! We're down to 2 names too!
Ditto!

Name the baby after the grandmother. I don't like Harper, and Adelyn is waaaaay too common now (Addison, Adeline, Adelaide, etc).
Why not June Kathryn? Kathryn June? Kathryn Adelyn?
Have you heard of many other little ones with the name Harper? I have loved this name for years and now I see that some of the celebs are using it as a name. I know where it is listed in popularity on the charts, but was just wondering how popular it really is?
